Kim Kardashian Sued by Paparazzi Photographer for posting photo of herself on Instagram
In 2018, Kim Kardashian shared a photo on Instagram of herself and husband Kanye West having a sentimental moment at a party — and the photographer, who alleges in a New York lawsuit that the star didn’t ask to use the image, isn’t feeling the love.
The photo was taken by Saeed Bolden during a listening session for Nas’ new album “Nasir” in June 2018, however the photographer claims he never gave Nas permission to distribute it. As a result, he’s suing Kardashian, although there’s no news of how much he wants. According to TMZ, the photographer is suing her “for any profits” she may have gained from the Instagram post, as well as “punitive damages.”
Bolden is also suing Kim’s shapewear brand, Skims Body, according to TMZ, despite the fact that Skims’ Instagram account never shared the photo.
It’s worth mentioning that Kardashian employs her own photographer in order to prevent legal wranglings like this one.
“Btw since the paparazzi agencies won’t allow the fans to repost, all of my pics are taken by my own photog and you guys can always repost whatever you want,” she tweeted. “If I ever post from an agency I will tag them and I have permission. So those please don’t repost!”

This isn’t the first time a Kardashian has been held responsible for utilizing a picture of themselves. Her sister Khloe Kardashian was sued in 2017 when she uploaded a photograph of herself enjoying lunch in Miami taken by Manuel Munoz and licensed to The Daily Mail.
In any case, Kardashian isn’t the first star who has been hounded for publishing photos (of themselves) taken by paparazzi.
Jennifer Lopez was sued for $155,000 (£122k) in October for publishing a photo of herself on her Instagram account without permission in 2017.
Katy Perry was hit with a lawsuit last year over a 2017 Instagram post, while Justin Bieber resolved a copyright infringement action for an undisclosed sum. Previously, Ariana Grande was said to have paid a photographer $50,000 for filing a case alleging unlawful use of a picture.
Kim Kardashian, interestingly enough, just began another legal battle, this time on the opposing side. She sued an app developer for $10,000 after they used her photo without her consent.
