Kate Hudson ‘doesn’t care’ about nepotism claims as Goldie Hawn’s daughter
Kate Hudson, the daughter of actor Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson, has addressed the issue of nepotism in Hollywood in a recent interview with The Independent.
Hudson, who is set to appear in the Knives Out sequel Glass Onion, first rose to prominence in 2000 for her role as Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous.
In the following years, she had a string of successful film roles, including How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, You, Me and Dupree, Fool’s Gold, and Bride Wars.
Recently, nepotism in Hollywood has been a topic of discussion, with actors Zoë Kravitz and Lily Allen, both of whom have famous parents, speaking out on the issue.
Kravitz is the daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actor Lisa Bonet, while Allen is the daughter of actor Keith Allen.

Hudson, however, seems unfazed by the conversation. When asked about it by The Independent, Hudson responded, “I don’t really care.”
Hudson went on to say that she believes hard work and talent are more important than one’s connections in the industry.
“I don’t care where you come from, or what your relationship to the business is – if you work hard and you kill it, it doesn’t matter,” she said.
In the early stages of her career, Hudson admitted that she would try to change the subject when asked about her famous parents.
“I really wanted to have my own career,” she explained. However, she eventually came to the realization that it didn’t matter.
“Once I was a good decade in, though, I realised it just didn’t matter,” she said.
Interestingly, Hudson even suggested that discussing her parents could be a useful distraction while promoting a movie.
“Sometimes talking about my parents was actually a great distraction from talking about the movie I was meant to be promoting,” she said.
All in all, Hudson seems unperturbed by the debate surrounding nepotism in Hollywood, and is more focused on working hard and making a name for herself through her talent.
“People can call it whatever they want, but it’s not going to change it,” she said.
