Jen Shah Completes Anger Management Classes in Prison, Shares Update on Life Behind Bars
Reality star Jen Shah, known for her role in the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, is feeling healthy and providing an update on her life behind bars after completing mandatory anger management classes in prison.
In a statement shared by her representative Kris Giovanni with PEOPLE, Shah expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow during her time in prison.
Through various activities such as journaling, homework assignments, audio lessons, and weekly group sessions, Shah gained a deeper understanding of anger and learned healthy ways to respond and react.
She emphasized the importance of implementing the tools she acquired, stating, “I learned you can have the same activating event but get a different outcome using the tools we learned and implemented each week.”
During her coursework, Shah focused on challenging unhelpful beliefs and exploring rational self-analysis techniques.

Now, she feels healthier and hopes to apply the lessons she learned in the future.
Reflecting on her experience, she admitted, “In reflection, I could have used this result.”
Although the anger management classes have come to an end, Shah intends to carry her RSA (rational self-analysis) worksheet with her in case she encounters conflict while in prison.
She recognizes that while she cannot control the actions of others, she can choose how to respond and react using the tools she acquired in class.
Shah began serving her 78-month (6.5-year) sentence in February at Bryan Federal Prison Camp, FPC, for her involvement in a long-running telemarketing fraud scheme.
The reality star expressed her emotional turmoil in a journal entry, describing the pain of being away from her husband and sons.
She wrote about silently crying on her bunk bed, feeling as though her heart had shattered into a million pieces.
The thought of saying goodbye to her loved ones weighed heavily on her mind.
In March, Shah’s sentence was reduced by one year, and she is now scheduled to be released on August 30, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Database.
Her representative assured that Shah remains committed to making restitution payments and hopes to return home soon to resume her life with her family and work, leaving this chapter behind her.
Shah’s legal troubles began in March 2021 when she was arrested alongside her assistant, Stuart Smith, for their involvement in a nationwide telemarketing scheme.
Initially pleading not guilty, they were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Despite attempts to have the charges dismissed, Shah ultimately entered a guilty plea in July 2022.
She was sentenced to 78 months in prison in January, during which she expressed remorse for her actions and apologized to her victims.
In conclusion, Jen Shah has completed mandatory anger management classes while serving her prison sentence.
She has gained valuable insights into anger and healthy ways to respond and react.
Despite the challenges she faces, Shah remains hopeful and committed to making amends.
Her release date is set for August 30, 2028, and she is determined to rebuild her life with her family and move forward from this difficult chapter.
