The Controversy Surrounding the Duke of Sussex’s Paternity
Prince Harry, the youngest son of Diana and Charles, has always been one of the most talked-about and controversial members of the British royal family.
This speculation began even before his birth, fueled by knowledge of Lady Diana’s extramarital affairs.
Many fans of the royal dynasty immediately began to doubt that Charles was Harry’s real father.
The main reason for such rumors was the prince’s red hair, which was considered unusual for the Windsors.

Adding fuel to the fire, one of Diana’s lovers was a red-haired writing instructor and British Army officer named James Hewitt.
Their affair lasted several years before coming to an end in the early 90s when the couple broke up.
Hewitt became the primary contender for paternity in the eyes of supporters of the theory that one of the sons of the Wales family may be illegitimate.
However, there are numerous arguments against this theory.
Hewitt himself denied paternity, claiming that when his relationship with Diana began, Harry had already started walking.
This statement is supported by almost all royal biographers who assert that James’s relationship with the princess started in 1986 when the prince was already two years old.
Furthermore, there is a rumor that a British tabloid conducted DNA testing on a lock of Harry’s hair, which proved that Harry and Hewitt are not related.
Another potential candidate for the Duke of Sussex’s biological father is Diana’s bodyguard, Barry Maneke.
Diana referred to him as the love of her life.
However, experts believe that their relationship was more likely platonic.
Mark Dyer, a close friend of the princess, is also mentioned in the media as a possible father figure for Harry.
As an officer of the Welsh Guard, Dyer supported Harry after the death of his mother, effectively stepping into a fatherly role.
Diana herself was highly displeased with the rumors questioning Harry’s royal blood, as red hair is a family trait of the Spencer family.
