Emily Ratajkowski wore a Naked Dress to the 2019 Met Gala
During the 2019 Met Gala, Emily Ratajkowski wore the most daring outfit of the night.
The 27-year-old model and entrepreneur walked the red carpet in New York City for fashion’s biggest night. Emily previewed her Cher-inspired outfit on Instagram Stories in the weeks preceding up to the event, and boy, did she deliver.
The model donned a see-through Dundas gown with a big cut-out that showed off her famed abs and breast. Her headdress, which featured chain accents and feathers at the ear, was tied to her embroidered transparent dress.
EmRata chose a pair of metallic platform sandals to complement her sequined outfit, which peered out from beneath the cloth of her gown.
Many fans immediately saw parallels between Ratajkowski’s daring outfit and Cher’s distinctive naked-dress style, which was created by designer Bob Mackie over the years.
Ratajkowski is well-known for her edgy style. We admire her for wearing anything she wants. She recently turned her passion for fashion into a swimsuit business called Inamorata, which she says is all about inclusion. “It’s not about the body — it’s about the confidence, it’s about self-love. These are pieces that are for you,” she stated on her website.
Emily wasn’t the only one who went all out for the Met Gala’s outfit. Many celebrities, like Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Jenner, flaunted their endowments on the pink carpet, showing that wearing whatever you want, whether or not people like it, is hotter.
Lady Gaga dazzled in four unique Brandon Maxwell ensembles, which she exhibited in an elaborate strip tease on the red carpet, Zendaya had a real-life Disney princess moment, and Katy Perry dressed as a human burger.
Lady Gaga, Harry Styles of “Sign of the Times,” and Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam tennis champion, presented this year’s Met Gala. The topic is “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” which is a pun on a 1960s Susan Sontag article.
In the essay, Sontag said, “Camp is esoteric — a private code or badge of identity,” mentioning Swan Lake, Tiffany lamps, and the Art Deco style as examples.
