Dwayne Johnson’s Attempt to Honor His Man Crush Clint Eastwood Backfired With His Disaster DCU Movie: “Why don’t we make the Dirty Harry of the DC universe”
Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, is a Hollywood superstar with a massive following around the world.
Despite his own success, Johnson is an avid fan of legendary actor Clint Eastwood.
In fact, he was star-struck when he saw the 93-year-old at an Oscars event and froze, unable to approach Eastwood.
However, Johnson did not give up on expressing his admiration for the Dirty Harry actor and instead wrote him a letter.
In an interview with Contact Music, Johnson revealed that he was completely surprised when he saw Eastwood walking in with his wife at the Oscars.

The megastar admitted to freezing up and not being able to meet his idol.
But Johnson did not let this failure stop him from showing his appreciation for Eastwood’s work.
He wrote a heartfelt letter to the legendary performer to express how inspirational he had been to the young Rock.
Johnson has spoken publicly about the impact Eastwood has had on his life since he was a child.
He even credits Eastwood’s portrayal of an anti-hero with a mix of dubious morals and justice as influencing his early performances.
Furthermore, Eastwood’s films influenced the creation of the DC Comics character Black Adam in Johnson’s 2022 film of the same name.
The Black Adam team worked to make a movie that would be reminiscent of Eastwood’s classic films.
In an interview with AMC Theaters, Johnson shared that the team wanted to create “the Dirty Harry of the DC universe” and disrupt the traditional superhero formula.
However, Black Adam failed to impress audiences and critics alike, generating only $393 million worldwide and being labeled a box office bomb.
Despite the disappointing reception of Black Adam, fans can still watch the 2022 DCU action-adventure film on Max.
Johnson’s career has undoubtedly been influenced by Eastwood’s legacy, and while his attempt to honor the Hollywood legend may have backfired with Black Adam, The Rock remains one of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry.
