Brooke Shields remained a virgin until 22 because she was ‘terrified’
Brooke Shields has revealed that she was a virgin until she was 22 years old due to being “terrified” of s-x.
In an interview with Yahoo Life published on Tuesday, the 56-year-old actress and former model said that losing her virginity left her with a sense of guilt, as she was a Catholic and not married.
Shields explained how her attitudes towards s-x changed as she grew older. She said that in her 20s, she was always terrified of s-x because of her religious beliefs and sense of morality.
However, as she entered her 30s, her focus shifted to the physical aspects of s-x and the ways in which it could be used to create something, rather than simply being a means of expressing her own sexuality.
It wasn’t until her 40s that Shields began to think of s-x as her own experience, rather than something that she navigated in order to please others.

This shift in perspective has allowed her to embrace her sexuality in a more confident and empowering way, and she wants to help other women to do the same.
Shields praised her husband, Chris Henchy, for supporting her at every stage of her journey and for celebrating her at every age.
She said that he has been a source of strength and comfort for her, and has helped her to feel more confident and empowered in her own skin.
The actress also spoke about the importance of communication and consent in relationships, and emphasized the need for women to be in control of their own experiences.
She said that she wants her daughters, 18-year-old Rowan and 15-year-old Grier, to understand that s-x is a joint decision and that they should never feel used or ashamed of anything.
Shields wrote about losing her virginity in her 2014 memoir, “There Was a Little Girl”.
In the book, she detailed how she first slept with her college boyfriend, Dean Cain, when she was 22 years old. She said that the two of them were “instantly crazy” about each other, but that she made him wait before they had s-x.
Shields said that her mother’s presence in her life made it difficult for her to fully embrace her sexuality, and that she felt as if her mother was watching her even when they were alone.
She explained that this feeling of being watched and judged made it difficult for her to relax and enjoy s-x, and that it contributed to her fear and anxiety around the subject.
Shields has come to embrace her sexuality and has learned to appreciate s-x for what it is: a natural and enjoyable aspect of human life.
She hopes that her own experiences and lessons will help other women to do the same, and to take control of their own experiences in order to find happiness and fulfillment.
