Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have encountered difficulties fitting in with their wealthy neighbors in Montecito, California, according to local commentator Lady Colin Campbell.

Lady C, as she is known, revealed on her YouTube channel that some of the couple’s billionaire neighbors in Los Angeles want nothing to do with them.

The Sussexes moved to Montecito after stepping down from their royal duties last year, settling in a luxurious community known for attracting celebrities.

It was previously reported that the couple purchased their home for just over £10 million, but its value has since skyrocketed to over £100 million within nine months.

Despite their lavish surroundings, Lady C claims that Harry and Meghan have failed to establish a connection with certain affluent residents.

Lady C shared her experience at an event in London where she conversed with well-known stars who also own property in Montecito.

They echoed sentiments expressed by her other friends familiar with the area, stating that “everybody in Montecito hates them, actually her, they don’t care that much about him, he’s negligible.”

Furthermore, Lady C revealed that the billionaires residing there want nothing to do with the couple, emphasizing that nobody wants to associate with them.

Are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry truly the nightmare neighbors in their new Los Angeles community?

According to a tabloid, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are considered the worst neighbors ever in the gated community they now call home.

People pay exorbitant amounts to live there due to its beauty, privacy, and tranquility.

Unfortunately, with the presence of Harry and Meghan, chaos has ensued.

The paparazzi have flocked to capture photos of the couple, helicopters hover overhead for aerial shots, and tourists and fans swarm the neighborhood.

The tabloid further alleges that the couple have been cold and unapproachable to their neighbors, exacerbating the nuisance they create.

A supposed neighbor claims that they keep to themselves and avoid making eye contact with anyone, even when walking their dogs.

While the tabloid’s cover photo suggests that the couple shuts down stores for their exclusive use, the article itself clarifies that locals predict they may request store closures to enjoy uninterrupted shopping.

Although Montecito is also home to celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ellen DeGeneres, other residents are reportedly moving away in droves since the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Billionaire Peter Sperling is the latest neighbor to sell his properties shortly after the Sussexes moved to the area.

In February, he sold one property for $16.3 million and, a few months later, his seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom mansion for $19 million.

Sperling is not alone; actor Rob Lowe also departed from the neighborhood in October 2020, selling his estate for $45.5 million.

He remarked on the impact of the royals’ presence, stating, “Once the royals move into your neighborhood, it’s never going to be the same.”

Interestingly, Harry and Meghan’s arrival in Montecito led to a significant increase in property values, prompting many residents to sell their homes at inflated prices.

However, it is worth noting that Sperling suffered a loss of $6 million on his April property sale.

Despite this, the allure of maximizing profits seems to outweigh any concerns about the couple’s impact on the community.

In conclusion, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are facing resistance from their wealthy neighbors in Montecito.

Their alleged lack of integration and the disruptive attention they attract have resulted in some residents distancing themselves from the couple.

While their presence has undoubtedly boosted property values, it remains to be seen whether this comes at the cost of strained relationships within the community.
