Meghan Markle Furious Over Prince Charles’ Future Plans for Monarchy
Meghan Markle, along with her husband Prince Harry, made headlines when they officially stepped down from their royal duties in March 2020.
Since then, the couple has been residing in California with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
However, discussions about their time as senior royals in Britain’s most famous family are still ongoing.
Recently, a royal author revealed that something Prince Charles had planned for the future did not sit well with Meghan, causing her to be deeply concerned about what it would mean for her children.

It is no secret that Prince Charles and Meghan were once very close.
Reports suggest that the future king had developed a fondness for Meghan when she began dating his son.
He even stepped in to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day.
Meghan was believed to have played a significant role in improving the relationship between Prince Charles and Prince Harry before their departure from the royal family.
In fact, Prince Charles nicknamed Meghan “Tungsten,” after a strong and resilient metal, to match her strength and determination.
However, according to a royal biographer, Meghan was angered by a future plan that Prince Charles had in mind once he became king.
The plan reportedly involved slimming down the monarchy, which meant that only Charles, his wife, his two sons, and their wives would be considered senior royals.
Robert Lacey, an author and historian for Netflix’s The Crown, stated that Meghan did not welcome these plans.
Lacey further explained in his book, Battle of Brothers, that Prince Charles intended to limit the number of HRHs (His/Her Royal Highness) created by George V’s 1917 convention.
This would potentially exclude their son Archie from his future prince title.
Meghan took this personally, and it is no wonder that she expressed her discontent.
While the media speculated that Charles had stopped taking Harry’s calls due to financial reasons, Lacey emphasized that there were deeper issues at stake, referencing Harry’s claims during the Oprah interview about being isolated by his father.
During her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan voiced her frustration about her son not being given a prince title.
However, she did not mention the reason behind this decision at the time.
Queen Elizabeth II has already indicated who she wants to represent the royal family in the future.
After Meghan and Harry’s departure from the royal family, many royal fans questioned what the new monarchy would look like.
In December 2020, Queen Elizabeth II made it clear when she held a gathering outside Windsor Castle, inviting Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Sophie, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
This gathering showcased them as the faces of the royal family once her reign comes to an end.
As for whether Prince Charles will adhere to his mother’s plan, only time will tell.
The future of the monarchy remains uncertain, but one thing is certain: Meghan Markle’s concerns about her children’s place within the royal family have sparked controversy and shed light on the ongoing discussions surrounding the institution.
