Rihanna, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, has stepped down as CEO of Savage X Fenty, leaving fans wondering why.

The lingerie line was created by Rihanna in 2018 and has since grown into a billion-dollar enterprise due to her ambition.

However, she has now passed on the baton to Hilary Super, who was previously the CEO of Anthropologie Group and has held executive positions at Guess, American Eagle, Gap, and Old Navy.

Interestingly, Meghan Markle had asked Rihanna to recruit Hilary Super as the next CEO of Savage X Fenty, but her request was rejected.

Rihanna stated that the CEO role had already been decided and that she would not change her decision, leaving Meghan Markle empty-handed.

In a recent interview with Vogue magazine, Rihanna praised Hilary for her business acumen and promoted her capabilities.

“I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hilary Super as our new CEO – she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level,” Rihanna said.

Despite stepping down as CEO, Rihanna will remain a bigwig at Savage X Fenty, continuing her job as executive chairman.

Her fans on Twitter took the news surprisingly well, with some hoping that her departure would free up some of her time so she could invest energy back into her music career.

Rihanna’s last studio album was Ante in 2016, and in 2022, she teased a new album.

A source told The Sun last year that Rihanna would drop an album this year, which she confirmed in a 2023 British Vogue interview.

The upcoming album, known as R9, will be influenced by reggae music and will feature Pharrell Williams and Diplo.

Meghan Markle, on the other hand, was rumored to become the face of Dior along with Johnny Depp, Rihanna, and Jennifer Lawrence after being pulled out by Spotify.

However, a spokesman for the French fashion house in Paris has denied any contract negotiations or recent contact with the Duchess of Sussex.

Although Meghan Markle’s request to recruit Hilary Super as CEO of Savage X Fenty was rejected, Rihanna’s fans are excited to see what the future holds for the lingerie line under Hilary’s leadership.

And as for Rihanna, her fans eagerly await the release of her highly anticipated album, R9.
