Princess Catherine Brings Joy to Maternity Facility with Heartwarming Visit
Princess Catherine, also known as Catherine, Princess of Wales, brightened up a gloomy day with her visit to a maternity facility, where she delightedly cuddled a newborn baby.
The unexpected visit took place at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, where the princess met Sylvia Novak, a new mother, and her premature baby girl, Bianca.
Adorable photos captured the princess engaging in a conversation with Miss Novak while holding little Bianca in her arms.
The heartwarming encounter occurred in the special baby care unit of the hospital.
Miss Novak, originally from Budapest, Hungary, asked Princess Catherine if she would like to hold the baby during their conversation.

Surprised, the princess responded, “Am I allowed to?”
A staff member then assisted Miss Novak in passing Bianca to the princess.
As Catherine cuddled the baby, she remarked, “She’s very sweet,” before returning her to Miss Novak and continuing her tour of the hospital.
Afterwards, Miss Novak expressed her delight, saying, “I asked her if she wanted to hold her, and she opted for it.
I can’t blame her.
Bianca is cute.
The princess was lovely to speak to.
I was really impressed.
You don’t feel like you have classes between you.
It’s really nice.”
The princess’s visit was delayed by approximately 30 minutes as she took the time to meet and reminisce with hundreds of hospital employees and members of the public.
During these interactions, she fondly recalled her own experiences with her three children, reminiscing about their early days as newborns.
She jokingly mentioned that she still considered her youngest, Prince Louis, her baby until she encountered a real infant and realized he had grown into a big boy.
“It just feels like yesterday,” she remarked.
Princess Catherine also spent time on a postnatal ward, engaging with parents of four babies who had been born within the last 24 hours.
She empathized with the challenges of childbirth, acknowledging that no matter how much one prepares, it is always a shock to the system.
Complimenting the mothers on their resilience, she added, “As nurturing as I know the hospital is, there’s nothing like being in your own home, and I bet your families are desperate to see you all.”
During her visit, the princess also met with representatives of the Jasmine team, an organization that supports expectant and new mothers facing mental health issues.
She inquired about the team’s approach to providing mental health care, its reception, and the changing perceptions of stigma surrounding such care.
For the occasion, Princess Catherine wore a bright yellow dress paired with navy suede court stilettos and a navy clutch bag.
The maternity unit she visited, which annually cares for around 3,000 babies, received a UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative Gold Award in May for its exceptional support in infant feeding and parent-infant relationships.
This aligns with the princess’s work with the Centre for Early Childhood, where she champions high-quality maternity and early years care for improved long-term health outcomes.
This visit follows Princess Catherine’s admission earlier this year that being around babies often makes her feel broody.
During a summer event, she was seen holding a baby from the crowd and expressing her love for infants.
Her desire for another child has been a subject of speculation since 2019, just a year after the birth of her third child, Prince Louis.
Sources have revealed that Catherine is willing to go through another pregnancy, despite experiencing severe morning sickness in the past.
During an engagement in Northern Ireland in February, Catherine met a five-month-old baby named James Barr and remarked, “He’s gorgeous.
It makes me feel broody.”
In a heartfelt letter for Children’s Hospice Week, she also shared her cherished moments of family life, emphasizing the importance of spending quality time together, particularly outdoors.
Princess Catherine’s visit to the maternity facility brought joy to both staff and new parents, leaving a lasting impression of her warmth and genuine care for others.
