Prince William, the Prince of Wales, made a comment about the future of the monarchy that brought his father, King Charles, to tears.

According to a recently discovered clip from a documentary, William inherited the title of Prince of Wales from his father when Charles became King last year.

As Prince of Wales, William is in charge of the estate of the Duchy of Cornwall, which funds the public, charitable and private activities of the Prince and his family.

Speaking about the estate several years ago, William said he thought the family angle was important and thought about what he would do when he took control of it from his father.

During the ITV documentary, Prince Charles, Inside the Duchy of Cornwall, King Charles reflected on the conversation, revealing it made him emotional.

In the clip, William is seen talking to second-generation farmer Mervyn Keeling, where he reveals that he was already thinking about the future.

He said, “I’m starting to think about how I’m going to inherit the dukedom one day and what to do with it.

I think it’s really important, I really do, from a family standpoint.”

Then Charles entered the frame, who seemed particularly moved by his son’s comments.

He said, “When I saw that, I couldn’t believe it.

I was so touched and touched by what he said.

Honestly, it made me cry.

I really did.

Because I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him made the last 50 years worth it.”

As Prince of Wales, Charles has been in charge of the estate for just over 50 years.

Upon the death of Queen Elizabeth II, William inherited the title from his father and became Prince of Wales and his wife became Princess of Wales.

The monarch shared a touching message to his eldest son on the occasion of William’s 41st birthday on Wednesday.

In a Twitter post, Charles shared a never-before-seen photo from last month’s coronation along with the message, wishing the Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today.

The letter to the future monarch is in line with recent social media precedent that only members of the royal family get a public birthday message.

It was thought to have been set last year, with the likes of Princess Beatrice, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now missing their generic Christmas messages.

The royals also shared a sweet moment during the coronation ceremony when William was declared heir to the throne.

Before kissing the king on the cheek, Prince William said, “I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge allegiance to you and faith and truth I will bear to you, as a man of life and limb.

God help me.”

The king thanked his son while looking moved by the moment.
