Prince William has ‘embraced the move’ to new home Adelaide Cottage
Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, has reportedly “embraced the move” to his new home, Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate, according to sources.
While it may seem small compared to the grandeur of Kensington Palace, the four-bedroom residence is still a good size and surrounded by parkland and greenery, offering the family immediate access to nature.
Experts suggest that this will be beneficial for their overall wellbeing.
However, the cottage still boasts opulent decor, including gilded dolphins on a ceiling, which have been described as sympathetic to the style of the building.
Adelaide Cottage was built in 1831 and has often been described as a relaxing retreat.

The family intends to honour the heritage of the building while making it a comfortable and practical family home, one that feels like a retreat from busy royal duties and gives years of pleasure.
Kate Duckworth, a trends and interior expert at Swift Direct Blinds, explained that Adelaide Cottage may seem like a downgrade from their 20-room apartment at Kensington Palace, but it allows for greater privacy and independence compared to life in central London.
According to Ms Duckworth, the move to Adelaide Cottage will allow the family to have a ‘normal’ family life away from the tourism brought by Kensington Palace.
It is also likely that the children will enjoy the opportunity to play on the grounds without the watching eye of the public, something they were unable to do at Kensington Palace.
Moreover, the cottage is near the vast grounds of Windsor Castle, which could provide the family with even more space to enjoy nature and relax.
The family’s move to Adelaide Cottage may be a temporary or permanent one; the Waleses plan to keep their Kensington Palace residence and their home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall.
They intend to stay at their other homes as needed.
Experts suggest that the family may experience the ‘normal’ private life they anticipate from Adelaide Cottage and then decide whether they prefer the busy city or larger residences.

On another note, Prince William recently attended the opening of the Centrepoint centre in Peckham.
The Duke of Cambridge, who is a patron of the charity, spoke with staff and young people who have benefited from Centrepoint’s support.
The charity provides accommodation, health support, and life skills to help homeless young people get back into education, employment, and training.
Prince William has been a strong advocate for tackling homelessness and has supported Centrepoint’s work for over a decade.
