Former Good Morning Britain host, Piers Morgan, has revealed that ITV executives have approached him about a possible comeback to the breakfast show.

Morgan famously left the programme in March after making controversial comments about the Duchess of Sussex following her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Reports at the time suggested that Meghan had contacted the network to express her displeasure with his remarks.

In the interview, the 39-year-old wife of Prince Harry had opened up about her struggles with mental health, including having suicidal thoughts during her first pregnancy.

While Morgan later clarified his stance on mental health, he refused to apologize for his disbelief in the Duchess’s claims, leading to his departure from the show the next day.

However, the Life Stories host, who is currently on a break from GMB, has since hinted at a potential return.

In a recent interview, he warned Meghan that she might be in for a surprise, as he had not been “cancelled.”

Morgan emphasized his enduring popularity and suggested that viewers could see him back alongside his former co-host, Susannah Reid, in the near future.

“She, Meghan, thinks she’s beaten me.

She might be in for a surprise because I suspect I’ll be back soon,” the 56-year-old told MailOnline.

“And my views certainly haven’t changed.

If Meghan thinks she has cancelled me or won the battle, she is in for a big shock.

I’ve never been more popular,” he added.

Furthermore, Morgan revealed to The Sun that ITV bosses were keen on his return, particularly due to a drop in ratings following his departure.

He disclosed that a third party had reached out to gauge his interest in coming back to the show.

“As the Americans say, they reached out.

There have been approaches to test the water in the wake of their obvious ratings issues,” he stated.

Despite his absence from Good Morning Britain, Morgan continues to work for ITV as the host of his chat show series, Life Stories.

Last night, he took to social media to playfully announce that he had put in a call to ITV after fans called for his return.

This came after he almost missed his flight home from Edinburgh following a golfing trip.

“Thanks so much to the three delightful ladies from British Airways at Edinburgh Airport who let us on our flight home when we turned up late.

On strict condition that I return immediately to Good Morning Britain.

P.S.

I’ve put a call into ITV,” he humorously shared.

The news of a potential comeback has sparked excitement among Morgan’s supporters, with many expressing their desire to see him back on their TV screens.
