Piers Morgan Extends Unexpected Praise to Meghan Markle in Award Speech
In a surprising turn of events, Piers Morgan, the host of “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” had some unexpected words of appreciation for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during his acceptance speech at the Television and Radio Industries Club Awards ceremony in London.
Morgan, who won the award for Interview of the Year, took the opportunity to acknowledge Markle’s contribution to his career.
“I want to thank Meghan Markle because, if you think about it, without her contribution to my career, I would never have gone into talk TV.
I wouldn’t be standing here with this award,” Morgan expressed.
This unexpected praise comes amidst a rocky and contentious relationship between Morgan and the Duchess of Sussex.

Morgan has often taken jabs at Markle, and their feud reached its peak when he lost his position on ITV’s Good Morning Britain following Markle and Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
During the interview, Morgan had been critical of the couple and engaged in a heated debate with weatherman Alex Beresford before storming off the set.
The feud between Morgan and Markle dates back to their early days of friendship.
They initially met when Markle contacted Morgan on Twitter during her visit to England in 2016.
Morgan revealed that they spent time together at a bar, had a great conversation, and he put her in a cab.
Little did he know that the cab took her to a party where she met Prince Harry.
After their solo dinner the next night, Morgan never heard from Markle again, leading him to feel ghosted.
Over the years, Morgan has not held back in expressing his opinions about Markle, labeling her as fake and a ruthless social climber.
He once criticized the couple’s Netflix documentary, “Harry and Meghan,” by stating that in their world, only unwavering praise is allowed, and any criticism is instantly framed as racism or bullying.
During the TRIC Awards ceremony, Morgan received the Interview of the Year award from his former competitor, Dan Walker of BBC Breakfast.
In his acceptance speech, Morgan humorously mentioned that he was removed from his previous slot due to Markle’s influence but managed to surpass Walker’s show in ratings.
The unexpected praise directed towards Markle left attendees at the TRIC Awards ceremony speechless.
Morgan’s acceptance speech showcased a rare moment of appreciation for the Duchess of Sussex, contrasting his previous criticisms.
As Morgan continues his career in talk TV, it remains to be seen if this newfound admiration will endure or if their fiery feud will reignite once again.
