Misson Harriman, a close friend of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, is celebrating Princess Lilibet’s second birthday by sharing a favorite photo.

The iconic shot was taken by Harriman on the little princess’s first birthday, and he posted it on his Instagram story along with a colorful happy birthday sticker.

In the photo, Lilibet is sitting in the grass of Frogmore Cottage during her backyard picnic party in June 2022.

She is wearing a blue dress with a white bow in her red hair, revealing that she inherited her dad’s tresses.

Harriman and his family were guests at Lily’s first birthday party, and the Sussexes have tapped him to capture important moments in the past.

Harriman is a photographer and social activist who has taken powerful portraits of the Sussexes at the One Young World Summit in England in September 2022.

He also snapped the sweet shot that Meghan and Harry used to announce she was pregnant with Lily in 2021.

The Duchess of Sussex has been very supportive of her friend’s professional achievements.

In April, she made a surprise virtual appearance to introduce Harriman before he gave a TED Talk.

“Our next speaker has an unmatched eye for a good photograph.

I’ve experienced his talent firsthand as he’s captured many meaningful milestones for me and my family, and I know there are many others who share in this experience,” she said with a smile.

Harriman also wished Prince Archie a happy fourth birthday with an Instagram tribute on May 6.

He shared a tender moment from the Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan, in which he also appeared, where baby Archie looked at a photo of Princess Diana in his nursery.

“Wishing you the happiest of birthdays Archie ❤️,” Harriman wrote, which was also King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation day.

Meghan stayed back in California with Archie and Lily on her son’s birthday, while Prince Harry attended the crowning ceremony.

Less than two weeks later, paparazzi chased their car in New York City, and Harriman shared support for the couple on social media.

“They need to be protected, this is unacceptable and terrifying, they have babies at home,” he tweeted on May 17.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told PEOPLE that Prince Harry, Meghan, and her mother, Doria Ragland, were involved in a near-catastrophic car chase while being pursued by a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi in the city the night before.

The trio was attending the Miss Foundation’s Women of Vision Awards at Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattan where Meghan was honored, and she brought along her husband and mother as her surprise guests to the event.

“That night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Miss Ragland were involved in a near-catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.

This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near-collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety.

Harriman shared a congratulatory message for Meghan on social media in honor of her big night.

“‘Congratulations em’,” he tweeted with a string of heart emojis, posting photos of Meghan with Harry, Doria, Gloria Steinem, the founding president of the Miss Foundation for Women, and Theresa Younger, the current CEO.

Overall, Harriman has been an important part of the Sussexes’ lives, capturing many significant moments and supporting them through difficult times.

As Princess Lilibet celebrates her second birthday, Harriman’s throwback photo serves as a reminder of the love and joy that surrounds the young royal family.
