Michael Middleton, father of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, celebrated his 74th birthday on June 23rd.

The Middletons have been a prominent part of the royal family since Catherine’s marriage to Prince William in 2011.

Michael and his wife Carol have played an important role in the lives of their grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The Middletons were present at Westminster Abbey for King Charles’ coronation in May, along with Pippa Matthews and James Middleton.

Michael is often seen in the background but has been a calming presence throughout his daughter’s long courtship and marriage to Prince William.

Despite being seen as non-royal in-laws in the past, William refused to treat them as such and has maintained a close bond with his in-laws.

Sources say that a heart-warming party was held to celebrate Michael’s birthday, with his lovely grandchildren in attendance.

The Queen herself has warmed to the hard-working aspirational values of the Middletons, and William has ensured that they are active participants in the royals’ lives.

The Middletons have been invited to Balmoral, Royal Ascot, Sandringham, and even Christmas Day celebrations.

Unlike previous generations, the Middletons have been fully integrated into royal life.

Historically, brides-to-be of royal suitors are accepted into the firm, but their families typically are not.

However, this was not the case with the Duchess of Cambridge and her parents.

Both Carol and Michael played a key role in supporting William throughout his relationship and marriage to their eldest child.

Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl noted that the Middleton family may have been the first to be accepted into royal life.

In the early 20th century, the Middletons had already rubbed shoulders with members of the British royal family.

Both of Michael’s parents served during World War II, with his mother working as a codebreaker and volunteer nurse, and his father serving as a pilot for the Royal Air Force.

Peter, Michael’s brother, had even flown alongside Prince Philip as co-pilot during a two-month flying tour of South America in 1962.

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, reportedly mocked the Middletons and compared them to the Hollywood hit movie Meet the Fockers, a film that’s based on a set of parents becoming grandparents for the very first time.

However, William has always maintained a close bond with his in-laws, and they often go on holiday together with their grandchildren.

The Middletons have certainly played a seminal and unprecedented role in the royal family.

They continue to be active participants in the lives of their grandchildren and are highly regarded by the Queen and other members of the royal family.

Michael’s 74th birthday celebration is just another example of the close relationship between the Middletons and the royals.
