Meghan Markle’s recent trip to Uvalde, Texas has ignited a firestorm on social media.

The Duchess of Sussex visited the town in order to donate blood and food, as well as pay her respects to the victims of the tragic shooting that took place at Robb Elementary School on May 24th.

While many praised her efforts, others were quick to condemn it as a mere publicity stunt.

Critics pointed out that Markle seemed to spend an unusual amount of time at the memorial, allegedly checking footage of herself.

This raised suspicions that the visit was carefully orchestrated for the perfect photo opportunity.

Trending:

“You don’t get quality posed shots without setting it up,” one social media user remarked, highlighting the behind-the-scenes photos that showed Markle collaborating with a photographer.

Surprisingly, actor Matthew McConaughey, who hails from Uvalde, expressed admiration for Markle’s use of his hometown as a backdrop for her visit.

He arrived in Uvalde on the same day as Markle, but their visits did not overlap.

McConaughey made a speech during his visit, emphasizing that his purpose was to support the victims and their families, rather than seeking personal attention.

In contrast, Markle appeared to be actively seeking validation from the press and locals.

She allegedly tried to persuade people to tell the media about their interactions with her, despite the fact that they were unaware of her identity.

Critics argued that her presence in Uvalde, particularly so soon after the tragedy, was inappropriate.

McConaughey, on the other hand, has a genuine connection to Uvalde, having spent part of his childhood there.

Alongside his wife, he personally visited parents in the community, demonstrating his commitment to preventing such tragedies in the future.

His actions were seen as a sincere effort to make a difference, rather than a mere show of support.

Meanwhile, rumors have surfaced that Markle did not even donate the food she claimed to have brought.

A source on Reddit alleged that Markle’s visit was primarily focused on taking photos with the injured children, with little regard for actually helping them.

The Texas Highway Patrol, responsible for her security, reportedly suggested that she could contribute by donating blood at the senior center.

The circus-like atmosphere continued as Markle and her entourage proceeded to Robb Elementary School, where more photos were taken of her in a mourning pose.

This exploitation of Uvalde, a close-knit community with strong family values, left many feeling disheartened.

One nurse confirmed that Markle’s contribution amounted to nothing more than three small vending machine sandwiches, while the drinks and chips were provided by South Texas Blood for their donors.

While Markle may have succeeded in capturing the perfect photo, she failed to connect with the injured and traumatized children and parents in any meaningful way.

The incident has left a bitter taste in the mouths of Uvalde residents, who feel that their town was used for personal gain.

In contrast, McConaughey’s genuine efforts to support the community have earned him respect and admiration.
