Meghan Markle finds herself in the midst of controversy as Netflix releases a three-episode documentary series directed by Beatrice Borromeo, a model with ties to European royalty.

Beatrice, a member of Monaco’s ruling family and ambassador of Dior, recently secured a deal with the fashion house, which denied rumors of a collaboration with Meghan.

Married to Princess Caroline of Hanover’s son, Beatrice’s husband is also the nephew of Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Titled “He Principal,” the Netflix series delves into the homicide committed by Prince Victor Emmanuel of Savoy, the only son of King Humbert II of Italy and the current pretender to the Italian throne.

The crime took place in Cavallo in 1978.

This release comes shortly after the Sussexes appeared in their own Netflix documentary, “Meghan and Harry,” which was touted as the streaming platform’s biggest documentary debut.

However, it failed to surpass Netflix’s most streamed shows, including the controversial “Trash,” which has sparked questions about its true popularity.

While Netflix continues to collaborate with Harry and Meghan on various projects, a Hollywood executive has accused Meghan of leveraging her royal connections for financial gain.

In light of this criticism, royal fans are urging Meghan to take a page out of Beatrice’s book.

Not only has Beatrice secured a deal with Dior, but she has also successfully directed a Netflix documentary that has garnered significant interest.

Harry and Meghan’s plan to develop a prequel to Charles Dickens’ “Great Expectations” centered around the character Miss Havisham has faced skepticism.

Dr. Emily Bell, an English professor and editor of the Dickensian journal, argues that Miss Havisham’s backstory has already been explored in previous adaptations.

Olivia Colman portrayed the character in a 2023 BBC series, and multiple movies have depicted the heartbroken spinster over the years.

Harry and Meghan’s proposed TV show for Netflix, titled “Bad Manners,” aims to present a feminist version of Miss Havisham set in a patriarchal Victorian society.

However, Dr. Bell warns against assuming that this adaptation is inherently feminist or offers a new perspective beyond what Dickens himself had already presented.

Despite their high profile and international appeal, Meghan and Harry have faced setbacks in their entertainment ventures.

Meghan’s animated series, “Pearl,” was canceled by Netflix, and Spotify expressed dissatisfaction with the archetypes.

On the other hand, Harry’s documentary, “Heart of Invictus,” is reportedly set to be released soon.

However, questions arise as to why the couple has achieved relatively little considering the expectations surrounding their brand.

As Meghan Markle navigates the challenges and criticisms that come with her involvement in the entertainment industry, many believe she can learn valuable lessons from Beatrice Borromeo’s success.

With Beatrice’s ability to secure deals and direct documentaries, she serves as an example of how to leverage connections while also delivering compelling content.

Whether Meghan will heed this advice and find her own path to success remains to be seen.
