Meghan Markle Signs with WME, Raises Eyebrows at the Agency

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has recently made headlines by signing with talent agency WME.

The agency will now represent Archwell, the content creation label founded by Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry.

While the focus will be on film and television production brand partnerships and overall business building, acting will not be a priority.

However, not everyone at WME is thrilled about the signing.

Meghan’s reputation for diva behavior in the workplace precedes her, and some employees are less than pleased with her arrival.

Trending:

Despite their reservations, the decision ultimately lies with the CEO.

According to a new report, the first meeting between Meghan and the WME staff went exactly as anticipated.

Employees were instructed to address her by her official titles, such as the Duchess of Sussex or her Royal Highness, and were strictly forbidden from using her first name.

This rule, which goes against the American practice of not using titles, has caused considerable embarrassment among the staff.

Furthermore, Meghan’s behavior during the meeting only intensified the negative sentiment towards her.

Witnesses claim that she became angry and made unacceptable remarks to the staff.

Although this has further fueled the staff’s dislike for her, they are willing to tolerate her demands and refer to her as Duchess to her face, while venting their frustrations behind her back.

There is no doubt that there will be plenty of snarky comments and attempts to rehabilitate Meghan’s image within the WME office.

After all, the agency stands to make a significant profit from their association with her, as the industry average commission is 10%.

In a surprising turn of events, actress Jamie Lee Curtis also took a swipe at Meghan, criticizing her for using her royal title for personal gain while shirking the responsibilities that come with it.

Curtis, known for her roles in films like “Freaky Friday” (2003), “Scream Queens” (2015), and “Knives Out” (2019), is married to Christopher Guest, the fifth Baron Hayden Guest.

Despite her own title as Baroness Hayden Guest, she chooses not to use it while in the United States.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan have retained their royal titles despite stepping back from their roles within the royal family.

This contradiction has led many to question Meghan’s credibility and sincerity, as she continues to profit from her association with the royal family while criticizing its toxic nature.

Royal commentator Daniela Elsa points out the clear pattern emerging from Harry and Meghan’s actions this year.

They have been vocal in their criticism of the royal house, shocking the world and drawing criticism from palace critics.

This contradiction between their criticisms and their willingness to leverage their titles for financial gain or public appearances only highlights the broken nature of the system.

The million-dollar question, or rather, the $180 million question, is whether Harry and Meghan would have secured such lucrative contracts if they were simply Mr. and Mrs.

Mart Bat and Windsor.

The disconnect between their scathing remarks about the palace and their continued use of their titles for business ventures and public appearances is becoming increasingly apparent.
