Meghan Markle and Prince Harry suffer another setback as their application for a trademark on their Paradigm’s podcast has been rejected by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

This comes after Spotify terminated their contract with the couple due to the production of only 12 episodes and a Christmas special in over 31 months.

While the deal reportedly earned the couple £18 million, rumors have surfaced that Meghan faked interviews on her podcast and sold the work to her staff members.

The Sussexes were seeking exclusive rights to the name Paradigms for downloadable audio recordings and podcasts related to women’s social issues and stereotypes facing women.

However, a trademark for Models LLC already exists, obtained by an Arizona-based firm in 2015, allowing its use for a series of books and articles on nutrition, fitness, sexuality, and mental personal development.

Harry and Meghan failed to sign their application to the regulatory body, raising questions about their involvement.

Marjorie Whitter-Norman, of Los Angeles firm Wilkie, Farr and Gallagher, has applied for an additional three months to iron out the wrinkles and get the trademark application approved.

Meghan Markle has also been accused of taking a hands-off approach to the Spotify podcast by faking interviews.

The Duchess of Sussex allegedly sold the podcast’s interviewing work of less celebrity guests to her staff members, adding her voice to the conversation afterward.

Rumors had been swirling for some time over the extent of the Duchess’s involvement in the project, with observers branding Meghan “America’s laziest interviewer” back in November 2022.

The comments came following a significant blunder by a guest that could well have been intentional shade-throwing, which seemed to reveal that Meghan does not do her own tricks.

New York writer Alison Yarrow took to online entertainment after an appearance on Meghan’s podcast episode “To Be or Not To Be,” thanking a sound producer called Farrah Safarfi for being an excellent interviewer.

However, in the episode, Yarrow could be heard clearly discussing the origin and plague of the word b***h with Meghan.

The Spotify deal was ended by mutual agreement, according to the Sussex’s sound production company, Archwell.

“We are proud of the series we created together,” they said.

However, Bill Simmons, head of podcast development and monetization at Spotify, had a different take on his own podcast.

On Friday, Simmons said, “The f***ing cheaters, that’s the podcast we should have sent off with them.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s application to reserve the podcast title has been rejected by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

The royals were seeking exclusive use of Paradigms for downloadable audio recordings and podcasts related to women’s social issues and stereotypes facing women.

However, their application was turned down due to the likelihood of confusion with a current brand of the same name.

The Arizona-based company, Paradigms LLC, applied for exclusive use in 2015 for books and articles about nutrition, fitness, sexuality, and mental-personal development.

The royals’ lawyer, Marjorie Whitter-Norman of law firm Wilkie, Farr and Gallagher, has pursued the decision, applying for an additional three months to prepare a new application.

The trademark rejection comes just days after Spotify and the royals announced they would part ways, revealing that the podcast that debuted in August 2022 would not be renewed for season two.

In a joint statement to The Post, Spotify and Archwell Sound said they have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series they created together.

Models, which explored the names that keep women down, was the only project the couple produced for Spotify during their more than long-term partnership.

They signed a $20 million or more deal between their Archwell Sound and the streaming giant.

Despite the setback, the couple is expected to continue their work on various projects related to social issues and mental health through their Archewell organization.
