King Charles Urged to Strip Prince Andrew of Remaining Royal Honours

A recent poll has revealed that an astonishing 79% of Royal supporters believe that the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, should be stripped of his prestigious title as Knight of the Garter.

Prince Andrew was notably absent from the annual Garters Day Parade and Party in Windsor last week, prompting calls from Royal supporters for King Charles to revoke his privileges.

The honour of being made a Knight of the Garter was bestowed upon Prince Andrew by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2006.

However, he has been absent from Garter Day proceedings for the past two years.

As the reigning monarch, King Charles possesses the authority to appoint and dismiss members of the Order.

Currently, Prince Andrew holds only a few remaining royal honours, as he was previously stripped of his military titles, royal patronage, and the position of HRH when he stepped back from public life in 2019.

Russell Myers, the Royal Editor of the Daily Mirror, has expressed doubt about the possibility of the King removing his own brother from the Order.

In an interview with the Royal Beat, Myers explained that the tribute is likely the only thing left for Andrew, stating, “It’s an interesting situation for the King, how much Andrew wants to show in public.

I think he just wants him to try to retire and not cause him any grief.

He’ll just hope Andrew fades into the background.”

Despite Andrew’s desire to return to royal life, Myers believes it is highly unlikely to happen.

When asked about the possibility of Andrew’s dismissal from the Order, Myers added, “There have been transfers of garter, it really is a gift from the King.

And there is no way Charles would do that to his brother.”

In response to the growing debate, a poll was conducted asking fans whether Prince Andrew should be removed from the Order of the Garter.

The poll, which ran from Monday 26 June to Tuesday 27 June, received a total of 1,822 votes.

Astonishingly, nearly 4 out of 5 fans (79%), or 1,442 people, voted in favor of his removal.

Only 19% (355 people) opposed the idea, while 25 people remained undecided.

The comments section of the poll became a platform for passionate discussions among Royal fans regarding Andrew’s future within the esteemed Order.

One fan, BocaTancrize, agreed with Russell Myers, suggesting that if Queen Elizabeth allowed Andrew to retain his title and the royal lodge he resides in, it is unlikely that King Charles would take any action against him.

BocaTancrize expressed confidence that King Charles would follow in his mother’s footsteps and maintain the status quo.

However, other fans argued vehemently for Andrew’s removal from the Order of the Garter.

User Conker exclaimed, “Get him out of it all!”

Similarly, Darcia asserted that the disgraced prince should not be allowed to retain the honour, stating, “He should be removed from everything.”

Since its establishment in 1348, only 40 individuals have been removed from the Order by the reigning monarch.
