The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, have reportedly decided not to move into the Royal Lodge, even if Prince Andrew is forced out.

The couple is said to be very happy in their current residence, Adelaide Cottage, a Windsor-based home they moved into at the end of last summer.

Despite reports that the royal couple had their eyes on the 30-room mansion, they have no intention of moving there.

Currently, Prince Andrew lives at the Royal Lodge, but the King is eager to transfer his brother, something the Duke has flatly refused to do.

Earlier this year, it was reported that William and Kate had been keeping an eye on the Royal Lodge since the announcement that Andrew may be leaving.

However, Andrew refused to leave the 30-room mansion, even refusing to move out temporarily during renovations for fear he might lose the house forever.

Sources previously claimed that Adelaide Cottage was too small for Prince William, Kate, and their three children, nine-year-old Prince George, eight-year-old Princess Charlotte, and five-year-old Prince Louis.

But an insider has revealed that the couple is extremely happy in their current home and wants to provide as normal an upbringing as possible for their three children.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge moved from Kensington Palace to Windsor last September, with their three children now attending Lambrook School.

The monarch has asked Andrew to consider moving into Frogmore Cottage, the former home of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in order to make room for the future King and Queen to move in.

Prince Andrew moved into the Royal Lodge in 2002, after signing a 75-year lease on the house.

He still lives there with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.

The King suggested that Andrew could permanently downsize Frogmore Cottage to make room for William and Kate.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were moving out of Frogmore Cottage, the home they used as their base in the UK after stepping down from royal duties three years ago.

The couple moved to the US in 2020, having previously lived at Frogmore Cottage following the birth of their son, Prince Archie, in 2019.

The eviction was confirmed back in March with a statement that read, “We can confirm a request from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to vacate their home at Frogmore Cottage.”

While the King is keen on the family of five moving into the Royal Lodge, William and Kate have made it clear that they are content with their current living situation.

In conclusion, despite the rumors and reports, Prince William and Kate Middleton are not planning to move into the Royal Lodge.

They are happy with their current residence and want to provide a normal upbringing for their children.
