Jessica Biel, a well-known actress who rose to fame by playing the reverend’s daughter in 7th Heaven, has taken on a new role that is a far cry from her previous clean-cut image.

In her latest project, The Sinner, she plays the part of Cora Tannetti, a seemingly normal wife and mother who suddenly and brutally murders a stranger right in front of her husband and son.

This shocking and graphic role has made headlines and caused quite a stir in the entertainment industry.

The show, which is set in upstate New York, is an eight-episode whodunit that follows the investigation into the murder as detectives try to find a motive for the crime.

Based on Petra Hammesfahr’s novel of the same name, it starts with Biel’s character contemplating suicide while swimming in a crowded lake.

Instead of taking her own life, she becomes enraged and stabs a complete stranger seven times with a knife she was using to peel an apple.

After this brutal act, Biel’s character then strips n^ked and washes away the stranger’s blood in what is one of the most graphic and explicit scenes of the show.

She is also shown having a steamy s** scene with her husband.

The plot of the show is full of flashbacks that provide clues to Cora’s past and reveal hints of s**ual repression and childhood trauma.

Biel, who is married to pop star Justin Timberlake, also served as a producer on the series.

She says that playing such a dark and complex character helped her to confront and exorcise some of her own demons.

In an interview with Marie Claire, she shared that “I have challenges standing up for myself sometimes.

Times when I don’t trust my own voice.

And that’s the stuff I needed to bring out and explore to understand Cora”.

She went on to describe the experience of acting in such a demanding role as “like a drug, like an adrenaline rush.

There’s a real catharsis…you’re exhausted, you are free; you feel a lot of different things.

For me, it’s like a rebirth.

Like I’m a phoenix rising up out of the ashes.”

Biel’s performance in The Sinner has been highly praised by both critics and audiences alike.
