Harry and Meghan Markle May Change Their Surname to Spencer
In a recent interview with GB News host Dan Wooten, Tom Bauer speculated that Harry and Meghan Markle might shed their Windsor surname in favour of Spencer, Princess Diana’s maiden name.
Bauer suggests that this move may be an attempt to associate themselves more closely with the late princess.
The couple is now contemplating surrendering their Sussex titles and replacing the Windsor surname with Spencer, according to Bauer.
This speculation arises amidst rumours that the pair are rebranding, following their recent commercial disappointments.
Bauer alleged that Meghan Markle always wanted to be like Diana, and she went to the extent of suggesting that she should drop the name Windsor and take the surname Spencer, so she’d be Meghan Spencer, or Diana 2.0.

Bauer further claimed that the couple has been discussing their prospective name change with others.
They’re actively trying to recast themselves as Harry and Meghan Spencer, Bauer claimed.
Bauer asserts that this proposed transformation is all about the break-off, which he believes would also involve relinquishing the Sussex title.
He added that the image was important, and it’s all now sabotaged.
That’s a great blow to them because they were looking for something new, and now they have to look for something again.
The late queen granted Harry and Meghan the titles Duke and Duchess of Sussex upon their marriage in 2018.
However, there is one issue with Harry and Meghan’s logic.
Meghan cannot be Meghan Windsor or Meghan Mountbatten-Windsor since she’s not a blood royal.
Legally, she is and always will be Rachel Meghan Markle.
Catherine is still legally Catherine Elizabeth Middleton.
Like Meghan, Catherine’s not a blood royal and can’t take her husband’s surname.
If Harry and Meghan were to take the Spencer surname, it would greatly upset the king, though it wouldn’t be surprising if that were the point.
By changing their names, the Sussexes would be upsetting Charles.
This is a desperate stunt to show the world that Meghan is Diana.
Harry couldn’t care less about his father, even less about his brother.
It makes one wonder why he even showed his face at the coronation.
He has Spencer blood, but he’s not one of them, not by a long shot.
Meghan would never forfeit her title as she allegedly has changed the passport to being the Duchess of Sussex.
She has garment bags with a monogram and DSSOS embossed on a Lady Dior bag.
Could the Spencer family object in court and prevent Harry from changing his name?
Spencer is a relatively common name, and the earl can’t restrict its use by people not entitled to it.
If Harry and Meghan have some kind of near-catastrophic brain snap and try to take this path, Earl Spencer would just need to put out a public statement that the name change was done without his consent, he finds it an offensive attempt to take advantage of his name and his late sister’s reputation.
His nephew and niece-in-law do not in any way represent his family, and the Spencer family do not associate with them.
There’s no way in hell Charles Spencer gives a shit about Harry.
Charles doesn’t like the King because of Diana, but he’ll never cross Prince William.
Jane and Sarah are firmly on the side of the Royals and would have words with him if he gets too friendly with Harold.
Now, you could be right that Harold and Meghan think they can buddy up to him, but Earl Spencer will always be loyal to William.
Charles isn’t a fan of Meghan and has had it with Harry.
In fact, William reached out to him to try to talk sense into him about slowing things down with Meghan.
