Feud Between Princes: Childhood Origins Revealed

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, has recently unveiled in his memoirs that the seeds of his long-standing feud with his brother, Prince William, were sown during their childhood.

From the very beginning, the two brothers were treated differently due to their contrasting roles within the monarchy.

As the heir to the throne, William was deemed more important and thus required protection, while Harry, as the spare, held less significance for the state.

Paul Burrell, the former butler of Princess Diana, has come forward to share an anecdote shedding light on a pivotal moment that influenced Harry’s resentment towards his relatives.

Burrell recounts an incident where the nanny served the young princes different quantities of sausages for breakfast.

Trending:

William received three sausages, while Harry was given only two.

When Harry questioned the discrepancy, the nanny explained that the future king needed to consume more food.

Though the nanny likely had no malicious intent, Burrell asserts that this incident left a lasting impression on the prince.

Burrell further recalls that, despite their close bond in childhood, Harry was already dissatisfied with being cast as the sidekick to his older brother.

He keenly observed how family members and palace staff consistently placed him in a subordinate position compared to William.

Simultaneously, living up to the standards set by his accomplished brother proved challenging for the youngest prince.

Princess Diana, recognizing this, implored Prince Charles not to send Harry to Eton, fearing that he would struggle under the shadow of his brother.

Unfortunately, her pleas went unheard, and as a result, Harry endured constant comparisons to William.

In Burrell’s opinion, Harry, feeling overshadowed by his more intelligent and reserved brother, sought to compensate for his perceived shortcomings through a more rebellious demeanor.

His behavior became increasingly attention-seeking, as he yearned for validation from the adults around him.

Diana often found herself having to admonish her youngest son, urging him to be quieter or to keep his opinions to himself.

While Burrell sympathizes with Harry for the way he was treated during his formative years, he believes that the prince has now taken things too far.

According to Burrell, Harry’s actions in bringing forth unflattering aspects of his family’s life are an attempt to dismantle the monarchy, causing harm to numerous individuals in the process.
