A three-month delay has been announced for the release of a new book by Omid Scobie, a cheerleader for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The book, titled “Endgame,” promises to be a penetrating investigation into the royal family’s fight for survival.

Originally scheduled for release in August, it is now set to be published on November 21st.

This change in publication date has raised concerns among royal aides, who may be watching nervously as Scobie potentially includes inside material beyond the king’s coronation.

Prince Harry, who notably sat in the third row during the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, played no formal role in the proceedings and left the UK after less than 24 hours.

With no sign of reconciliation between Harry and his father and brother, the delay in the book’s release has sparked fears that Scobie may exploit the ongoing rift within the family.

Commenting on Scobie’s announcement, royal biographer Richard Fitzwilliams questioned the reliability of the author’s sources.

Fitzwilliams stated that no reputable source would talk to Scobie, who is known as Harry and Meghan’s unofficial spokesperson.

He also criticized Scobie’s previous book, “Finding Freedom,” co-written with Carolyn Durand, which covered the Sussexes’ decision to step down as senior royals.

Fitzwilliams described it as badly written and inadequate.

Scobie’s new book, “Endgame,” is the second in a reported four-book deal with Random House.

The first book, “Spare,” written by Prince Harry himself, received criticism for its ill-judged passages, including Harry disclosing the number of Taliban he killed during his time in Afghanistan.

Following the leak of “Spare” in January, former Army Chief Colonel Richard Kemp labeled Harry’s comments as ill-judged, and former National Security Advisor Lord Derrick expressed his disapproval of disclosing kill counts.

Fitzwilliams further expressed skepticism towards “Endgame,” suggesting that much of its content will not be taken seriously.

He believes that the book is an attempt to profit from the Sussexes’ rift with the royal family and should not be trusted as a reliable source.

Scobie announced his second book last year, stating that it would expose the chaos, family dysfunction, distrust, and draconian practices threatening the future of the monarchy.

According to the publisher’s statement released on September 8, 2022, the passing of Queen Elizabeth triggered a crisis of confidence in the British monarchy.

Scobie’s book aims to provide unique insight and inclusive revelations into the turmoil within the institution.

Omid Scobie, the royal editor of Harper’s Bazaar, has been a staunch supporter of Harry and Meghan, co-authoring a sympathetic biography of the couple in 2020.

He is known for his close relationship with the couple since their move to America.

The timing of this book release coincides with a difficult period for Harry and Meghan.

Earlier this month, Spotify announced that it was dropping Meghan’s podcast, Archewell Audio.

As the release of “Endgame” approaches, many will be curious to see whether Scobie’s book can deliver on its promise to shed light on the challenges faced by the royal family and whether they have what it takes to save the monarchy.
