Duke and Duchess of Sussex Return to California After Challenging Overseas Trip

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made their way back to California following a difficult and unexpectedly extended stay overseas.

After attending the Queen’s funeral, the superstar couple swiftly returned to the United States, as confirmed by Page Six.

Since their departure as working royals in 2020, the Sussexes have settled in California.

It comes as no surprise that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were eager to leave the UK.

Not only were they reluctant to prolong their trip, but they also disliked being away from their two young children for an extended period.

Trending:

Despite reconnecting with much of Harry’s extended family during their time abroad, it appears that the relationship between the Sussexes and the royal institution has not improved.

Reports suggest that Kate Middleton did not even engage in conversation with Meghan throughout her entire visit to the UK.

Furthermore, the couple’s new position on the royal website indicates a deteriorating relationship with King Charles.

The main point of contention continues to be the upcoming tell-all memoir by the Duke of Sussex.

While the contents of the book remain unknown, it is causing anxiety among the royals.

However, Harry may face an uphill battle if he intends to tone down his revelations.

The Duchess of Sussex could be encouraging her husband to stand firm.

In the latest episode of Palace Confidential, royal experts discussed how Prince Harry should approach the release of his bombshell memoir, which has been delayed until next year out of respect for the Queen, as confirmed by The Telegraph.

Commentators expressed concerns that Harry may be perceived as insensitive and face intense backlash upon publication.

Richard Eban, the Daily Mail’s diary editor, pointed out that some parts of the memoir may become outdated due to the Queen’s passing.

It would be natural for Harry to want to make updates.

However, it remains unclear whether he will be allowed to do so.

Charlotte Griffiths, editor at large for the Mail on Sunday, acknowledged that Harry finds himself in a delicate situation due to his reported substantial payday from the book.

Additionally, he was already encouraged to amplify the drama.

The publishers may also be eager to proceed, as reducing the number of scoops in the book would not be in their interest.

Meghan Markle’s support for her husband and her desire for him to speak the truth further complicates matters.

Rumors have circulated that Harry wishes to cancel the memoir in order to reserve the title for his children, Archie and Lilibet.

However, Meghan disagrees, leading to a heated argument between the couple in Los Angeles.

Now, King Charles must make a decision regarding the use of titles for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s children.

Will he grant them the titles of Prince and Princess?

According to Times Royal editor Royne Car, this issue is intensifying tensions between Charles, Harry, and Meghan.

It is interesting to note that the couple consistently appears to feel entitled and demands concessions from the royal family.

Currently, they remain without titles on the royal website, which is seen as a clear signal from the King.

He is willing to grant them titles, but trust is a crucial factor.

The Sussex family must prove that they can be trusted.

According to intricate royal protocol, when Archie and Lilibet were born, they were too far removed from the line of succession to receive the titles of Prince and Princess.

Nevertheless, as grandchildren of the current monarch, they are entitled to be addressed as such and to use HRH (His/Her Royal Highness).

However, their parents are not senior royals.

Royal expert Phil Dampier believes that granting them the titles of Prince and Princess without the HRH designation would be a reasonable compromise.
