Duchess of Cambridge’s Clever Trick to Keep High Heels from Slipping
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is known for her impeccable style and signature n^de hosiery.
It turns out she has a genius hack for ensuring her high heels stay in place when she wears them.
According to reports, the 36-year-old royal relies on John Lewis non-slip tights, which come with built-in ribbed grips to prevent shoe slippage.
These tights are available at an affordable price of just £5 ($7) and come in black, nude, and tan colors.
Evidence of Kate’s clever trick was spotted during her visit to Sainte-Eustine University Hospital in Montreal back in 2011.

Close-up photos reveal the clear silicone grip peeking out from the side of her heels, confirming her use of the John Lewis non-slip tights.
It’s worth noting that Kate has been a loyal shopper at John Lewis department store Peter Jones for years, so it’s highly likely she came across these innovative tights there.
While some speculated that Kate may have been wearing Walford’s sheer non-slip tights in the past, it seems the brand no longer offers this particular product.
The Queen reportedly requires women in the royal family to wear stockings at public events, and Kate has embraced this tradition, making n^de hosiery a signature part of her look.
Royal expert Victoria Arbiter explained, “You never see a royal without their n^de stockings.
I would say that’s really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires.”
Interestingly, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, initially broke this tradition by not wearing tights for the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry in November.
However, she did opt for n^de tights when attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May, shortly after her wedding.
This event marked her first official engagement as a royal.
Like her sister-in-law, Meghan chose to wear n^de hosiery, although some critics pointed out that the color did not match her skin tone.
This led to calls for designers to provide a wider range of options for women with darker skin.
Now that Meghan has embraced the royal tradition of wearing n^de stockings, it is highly likely that Kate will be sharing her tights hack with her sister-in-law.
