The Academy did not include the Lost Boys star in the montage of performers who died in the previous year during the Oscars, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s Lt. Cheryl MacWillie. He died on March 10, 2010, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, of pneumonia and a heart issue. He died at the age of 38, only days after previous year’s ceremony.

Haim was a teen star in the 1980s known for his parts in “Lucas” and “The Lost Boys,” but his career was marred by drug addiction.

In his earlier years, Corey Haim was a prolific and well-known actor who starred in a slew of 1980s successes.

Judy Haim, his mother, who has breast cancer, will be selling some of his personal possessions on eBay, according to a note posted on his official website on Sunday.

“While the mourning continues, Judy feels it is time for her to release some of Corey’s personal belongings,” the Web posting said. “She no longer has the space for it all and would now like to offer them to his fans. Over the next few weeks, I will be listing these items for Judy on eBay. The proceeds of Corey’s snowboard and accessories from “The Two Coreys” will be for the benefit and support of Judy. The proceeds of all other items — T-shirts, shirts, shoes, etc. — will go 100 percent to the Homeless Animals Rescue Team of Long Island, an animal rescue organization that saves, vets and provides long-term shelter to homeless dogs, cats and other companion animals in need.”

“They knew Corey and sent condolences, and they explained that 200 (industry people) passed away in 2010 and it’s impossible to mention them all,” Haim says. “But I felt there were people we didn t even know who were on – the Academy is not aware who is a household name. A lot of people were pi––d off he wasn t mentioned and this was last chance to be honored by his peers.”

“They say they re a tight community, but don t go to [people’s] aid when in trouble, and don t honor them when they die,” she says, noting that her son has been in over 40 films. “They need to say something when they pass away. I am sorry – he has paid dues. How can you not honor them? How can they say there s not enough time? They need to find time.”

“There will always be fans and family members of those not included who will be disappointed by their omission,” the Academy says in a statement, adding that it offers “its understanding and apologies to those who missed seeing a favorite face in this year’s feature,” according to E! Online.
