Busy Week for Royal Family: King Charles and Princess Anne in the Spotlight
It has been a busy week for the royal family, with King Charles and Princess Anne taking center stage.
Despite some unexpected changes to their schedule, the royals embarked on a number of significant events.
However, Queen Consort Camilla was unable to join them due to a positive Covid test on Monday, which prevented her from traveling to the West Midlands on Tuesday and accompanying King Charles to Milton Keynes on Thursday.
Additionally, Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Lawrence had to alter their original plans for a four-day tour to New Zealand.
Starting off the week, King Charles performed an investiture on Valentine’s Day at Windsor Castle.

Later in the afternoon, he traveled to Helmslow in West London to meet with Turkish volunteers who were assisting with the relief effort for those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
During his visit, he even made a stop at the Mangal Kebab restaurant.
Moreover, Charles publicly unveiled Syria’s house in Trafalgar Square.
This temporary communal tent serves as a gathering place for Syrians to come together and provide aid to those affected by the crisis.
On Tuesday, Princess Anne arrived in New Zealand, which was under a state of emergency due to Cyclone Gabrielle.
Her Excellency the Earth, Honourable Dame Cindy Kiro, the Governor-General of New Zealand, warmly welcomed her at Government House in Wellington.
As a result of the devastating cyclone, Anne had to modify her plans to ensure the safety of all involved.
She began her second day in New Zealand by meeting with Chris Hipkins, the nation’s new Prime Minister.
Following that, she visited Wellington’s Executive Wing’s National Disaster Management Centre to engage with individuals working on the Cyclone Gabrielle response.
In a statement, she expressed her admiration for the efforts of first responders and local and national agencies, acknowledging their bravery and resilience in the face of such a challenging situation.
In her role as Colonel-in-Chief, Princess Anne also visited the Museum of New Zealand and attended a celebration commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Royal New Zealand Corps of Signals.
The day concluded with a ceremony at the National War Memorial in the nation’s capital, where Anne placed a wreath on the tomb of the unknown warrior.
Additionally, during her time in the country, she paid a visit to the Porirua chapter of New Zealand writing for the disabled, an organization she has been President of since 1985.
Meanwhile, King Charles traveled to Milton Keynes to celebrate the town being granted City Status in the UK.
The reception took place at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone.
However, along the way, Republican campaigners opposed to the monarchy displayed placards reading “Not My King.”
Nevertheless, supporters of the monarchy joined the crown and enthusiastically shouted “God Save the King.”
Back at Buckingham Palace, King Charles met with Polish President Andrzej Duda to discuss providing further humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
In an interview prior to the meeting, President Duda acknowledged the King’s deep concern for these issues.
He also highlighted the Royal Family’s significant financial commitment to supporting Ukraine, emphasizing their active involvement and sensitivity towards the matter.
Looking ahead, the EE BAFTA Film Awards Ceremony is set to take place on Sunday, February 19, at the Royal Festival Hall.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, alongside category winners and EE Rising Star Award nominees, will be in attendance.
Prince William, who is the President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), will join his wife Kate as they watch the awards presentation.
It is worth noting that Kate and William have not attended the BAFTAs together since 2020.
Their first joint appearance at the ceremony was in 2017, and Prince William has held the position of BAFTA president since 2010.
Though the couple was unable to attend last year’s ceremony due to scheduling conflicts, Prince William made a virtual appearance through a special video message.
In conclusion, it has been an eventful week for the royal family, with King Charles and Princess Anne taking on various engagements.
Despite unforeseen changes to their plans, they remained committed to fulfilling their duties and supporting causes close to their hearts.
