Bella Thorne has admitted that she felt uncomfortable while filming n-ked scenes.

She takes her acting seriously, but sometimes filmmakers focus too much on nud!ty that meaning is lost.

She talked openly about how, for the sake of her profession, she had to bolster herself at those times.

Bella told Page Six, “I wanted to be stronger, really, and when I was on set doing this scene, I was very, very uncomfortable. I always get over my discomfort because I want to do it, especially if it’s important to the character.”

“If this is a thing that needs to be in there, it needs to be in there. I’m a writer myself so I understand.”

The Famous in Love star continued, “(There are) some people that just want to get girls naked on camera. You’ve got to watch out for those movies, but when it’s needed for the character… yeah, it makes me feel uncomfortable.”

When asked if working with a female director makes her feel more at ease, Thorne responded that she has had just as many negative experiences on set with women as she has with men.

“I’ve actually worked with female directors and I’ve had an amazing time with some female directors and, of course, there have been some female directors that have made me uncomfortable. It’s not that it’s just a man that’s making me uncomfortable on the set. It’s really more of how the situation is handled from start to finish,” she told Page Six.

She continued, “If someone’s like, ‘Yeah, you’re supposed to take your shirt off now. You read the script, right?’ The expectation. Even if you’re like, ‘Yeah, I read the script and yes I know,’ it’s the way that it’s put in certain sets.”

The Shake It singer also understood how tough being a director and working on set can be.

She remarked, “They don’t know what they’re saying is making you feel a certain way,” in an interview with Page Six. It’s not that you always work on set with a sexist who only tries to make you feel horrible. It only happens very seldom, or 1% of the time.

“It’s more that people make mistakes and set’s running fast, people are talking and you’re not paying attention to the weight of your words so much. Things get misconstrued.”

Additionally, Bella recently discussed how she felt “pitted against” her former co-star Zendaya.

The 23-year-old actress remembers competing against her castmate in an interview with Us Weekly.

Bella stated, “We had to deal with that so much on Shake It Up. It’s like we said [in] a couple interviews when we were younger, how we explained how in the first season we weren’t friends and it took us those other two seasons of becoming so close. [It was hard] not having someone pitted against you [before] and then all of a sudden, now everyone is pitting you against each other. That fed into our heads. It made us not [be] friends in that first season.”
