Anna Wintour Attends Trooping the Color for King’s Honor List, Choosing Royal Side
The annual Trooping the Color event is one of the most prestigious events in the UK, and this year’s event was no exception.
One of the highlights of the event was the attendance of Dame Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, who was there to receive her Companion of Honor award from King Charles.
However, attending the event is not easy, as the tickets are very expensive.
You either need to have $35,000 or a ticket for a designer wanting to dress you and pay for you.
Even those who buy a table for the event must have their guests vetted by Anna in order for them to attend.

So being in with a chance of posing on the staircase of the Metropolitan Museum of Art is impossible if Anna is not a fan of your style.
Anna has previously made some gushing remarks about Meghan in 2019 before she left the royal family.
In a Vogue web series, Go Ask Anna, she revealed, “I read somewhere that there were members of the royal household that were confused and upset that she woke up so early at 5am.”
Dame Anna Wintour has been granted a Companion of Honor in King Charles’ first birthday honors list.
The legendary Vogue editor-in-chief, who was awarded an OBE in 2008 and DBE in 2017, was given the high honor in recognition of her years of service to fashion and publishing.
Anna was granted her honor alongside novelist Ian McEwan and Professor Sir John Bell, Regents Professor of Medicine at the University of Oxford.
There are only 65 recipients of the accolade at any time, and the trio join current members of the Order including Sir David Attenborough and Sir Elton John.
The King’s birthday honors list expands on the theme of the celebrations of his coronation, including a drive for community volunteering with more than 52% of those recognized this year being people who have shown outstanding work in their areas, either in a voluntary or paid capacity.
According to the outlet, Martin Amis, who died of cancer in May, would have officially been made a knight on the publication of the honors list, but an exception was made to ensure that he received the knighthood before he passed away.
He received the honor just the day before he died, after officials worked to rush through the honor because of his terminal illness as they cannot be bestowed posthumously.
Other notable figures in the list include Davina McCall, who said her MBE for services to broadcasting means a great deal to her.
She said in a statement, “I can’t believe it.
It’s a great honor, and it really means a great deal.”
Line of Duty actress Vicki McClure was made an OBE for services to drama and charity, while former England soccer star turned pundit Ian Wright received the same honor in recognition of services to charity and football.
Former hostages Sir Terry Waite, who spent almost five years in captivity in Lebanon, has been appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. George for his services to charity via his organization, Hostage International.
The Met Gala is one of the most prestigious events in the US, and scoring an invite is no easy feat.
Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has presided over the guest list for the exclusive event since 1995, meaning she gets the final say on who goes and who stays at home.
Even megastar Kim Kardashian spent years trying to secure a place on the guest list, with it being claimed in Anna’s biography that she felt that the Kardashians had zero style.
It wasn’t until 2013 that Kim was finally invited, alongside her then-boyfriend Kanye West.
However, things are bound to be different for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex when it comes to scoring an invite, right?
Well, it’s been reported that it’s not about the Vogue guru’s personal views of the celebrity, it’s about if they’re very fashionable or not.
A source previously told Page Six, “it’s Anna’s party, and just because you’re not invited doesn’t mean she doesn’t like you, necessarily.
You may not be up to her fashion standards.”
In conclusion, Anna Wintour’s attendance at the Trooping the Color event was a highlight of the celebration.
Her receiving the Companion of Honor award was well-deserved recognition for her years of service to the fashion and publishing industry.
