Anna Paquin is one of the latest A-listers to speak out against sexual harassment in the entertainment industry.

Commando and Charmed star Alyssa Milano tweeted, “If you’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted write ‘me too’ as a reply to this tweet,” to which the 35-year-old Piano actor replied.

The Will and Grace star Debra Messing and the True Blood actress were among the thousands of women who responded on Milano’s tweet.

Milano explained that a friend gave her that idea explaining that it “might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.”

In another tweet that links to a blog post, Milano wrote the following about film producer Harvey Weinstein: “While I am sickened and angered over the disturbing accusations of Weinstein’s sexual predation and abuse of power, I’m happy – ecstatic even – that it has opened up a dialogue around the continued sexual harassment, objectification and degradation of women.”

Paquin had previously not tweeted about the scandal engulfing the entertainment industry and centered on accusations against Harvey Weinstein, but she has started doing so now.

Her Twitter profile picture is a tribute to Rose McGowan, whom she was rallying support for along with “all the other victims”.

The Academy of Motion Pictures expelled Weinstein on Sunday after allegations of rape and sexual harassment against him. He has refuted the charges.

Last night, the Scotland Yard investigation into Weinstein became more serious as police looked into four further rape and sexual assault claims made against the notorious Hollywood mogul.

Another woman filed three additional accusations of sexual assault against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, which British police are now looking into.

The lady claimed she was assaulted in London in 2010, 2011, and 2015, according to the Metropolitan Police in London. The police said the investigation is being conducted by members of its Child Abuse and Sexual Offenses Command.

The identity of the lady has not been made public. In accordance with its policy of not disclosing the names of suspects who have not been charged, the police likewise avoided naming Weinstein.

However, it said that the claims are about a man who was the target of another charge lodged on Wednesday. According to reports, this alleged assault happened in the late 1980s.

The British actress Lysette Anthony said that in the late 1980s, he had assaulted her at her house in London. Another unnamed lady claimed to have been raped in 1992.

The 65-year-old Weinstein has refuted every accusation of extramarital s=x. More than two dozen women have come forward with claims of unwelcome advances, vulgar behavior, or sexual assault, including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Last night, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the procedure to revoke Weinstein’s Legion of Honor has started.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Scientists said on Saturday that its board had voted to remove Weinstein “well in excess of the required two thirds majority.”

It effectively banned a man whose productions received more than 300 Oscar nominations and 81 wins from Hollywood, declaring that the “era of wilful ignorance and shameful complicity in sexually predatory behavior and workplace harassment in our industry is over.”
