‘Knocked Up:’ Seth Rogen Took Sean Connery’s Advice for a s** Scene, Then It Backfired Horribly
Seth Rogen, the Canadian-American actor and comedian, had a tough time filming a s** scene with Katherine Heigl for the movie Knocked Up in 2007.
Rogen was a newcomer to the industry and was determined to make the scene as comfortable as possible.
To calm his nerves, he sought advice from an unlikely source – James Bond’s Sean Connery.
Connery had said that before every s** scene, he would tell the woman, “I’m sorry if I get aroused and I’m sorry if I don’t”.
Rogen thought it was a good piece of advice and decided to use it during his own s** scene with Heigl.

However, it backfired horribly.
During the shoot, Rogen told Heigl, “Katherine, I’m sorry if I get aroused and I’m sorry if I don’t”.
In response, Heigl asked, “Why would you be sorry if you don’t get aroused?
I don’t want you to get aroused.” This made the situation even more awkward for Rogen.
In a later interview, Rogen admitted that he realized the difference between himself and Connery was that people wanted the latter to get aroused a little bit.
Rogen wished he had just said sorry and left it at that.
Rogen also revealed that he found s** scenes nerve-wracking, especially since he was dry-humping a girl he didn’t know well, and he was afraid he would sweat on her.
But since Knocked Up was a comedy movie, Rogen felt that comedic s** scenes would help him through the process.
He added that it’s always easier to do a s** scene when it’s funny because it takes away what he finds uncomfortable about s** scenes.
Knocked Up follows the story of a twenty-something stoner who impregnates a one-night stand he feels is out of his league.
As a result, there was a s** scene between Heigl and Rogen.
Rogen admitted that portraying a stoner was more comfortable than doing a s** scene since he was used to smoking weed.
Rogen, who is also a writer and producer, has had a successful career in Hollywood, with movies like Superbad, Pineapple Express, This Is the End and The Interview.
However, he revealed that he didn’t invent the cross joint in Pineapple Express – the idea actually came from a book.
In conclusion, Rogen’s experience during the filming of Knocked Up is a reminder that s** scenes can be difficult for actors, especially newcomers.
Despite seeking advice from Connery, Rogen’s attempt to make his s** scene with Heigl more comfortable backfired.
However, as an experienced comedian, he was able to use humor to alleviate his nerves during intimate takes in other movies.
