Title: Princess Anne to Host Gillesbole Celebration After Years of Postponement

The British Royal Family is abuzz with excitement as preparations for King Charles’ coronation are underway.

Amidst the anticipation, whispers of even more good news have been circulating among royal servants.

Soon, this information will be officially announced on the British Royal Family’s homepage.

It has been confirmed that Gillesbole, an annual celebration held at Balmoral in Aberdeenshire, will make its return this year, following the coronation.

The invitation for Gillesbole was discreetly mentioned on the bottom lines of the coronation invitation card, allowing guests to plan accordingly.

After years of postponement, Princess Anne will take the reins as the host of this year’s Gillesbole.

Traditionally, the late Queen Elizabeth spent her summer holidays at Balmoral, and Gillesbole was designed as a time for the staff to partake in the festivities alongside the Royal Family.

Old images capture the Queen’s joy as she dances with Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Queen Mother Anne, and Prince Andrew.

The traditional dance, known as the eights and reel, sees the Queen leading the circle while her peers take turns dancing with her.

Even Prince Charles joins the circle and later dances with his grandmother and mother, as shown in the video below.

In the same clip, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip watch with delight as Princess Anne and Prince Andrew link arms and twirl each other.

However, it is worth noting that Meghan Markle did not receive an invitation to this special event.

According to a Royal Commentator, if Meghan had attended the King’s coronation, she would have been relegated to a D-list position.

US columnist Meghan McCain expressed this scathing assessment ahead of the historic occasion next month.

The focus of the coronation is to highlight the next generation of working royals, rather than those who have distanced themselves from their royal duties.

Meghan’s attendance would have placed her and Prince Harry in the same category they were during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral – the D-list.

Unsurprisingly, this is unacceptable to Meghan.

However, the consequences of their decisions will linger over Harry’s trip and may further disappoint Americans.

The tradition of Gillesbole dates back to Queen Victoria’s era when her husband, Prince Albert, purchased the Scottish castle in 1852.

In September of that year, the royal couple hosted a party for their staff, expressing gratitude for their hard work throughout the summer.

This event came to be known as the Gillies Ball, named after the Gaelic word for groundskeepers.

Fittingly, it is also the name of the shoe worn during certain Scottish reels.

The success of the summer ball led to its continuation every year during Queen Victoria’s reign, carried on by her grandson King George V and great-grandson King George VI.

Queen Mary, King George V’s wife, was reputedly an enthusiastic participant in the festivities.

Frederick Corbett, the deputy controller of supply at Buckingham Palace, noted in his memoirs that Queen Mary was incredibly energetic during these dances.

She particularly enjoyed Highland dances and old English country dances, which were always included in the program.

Queen Mary would actively participate in the first half of the dance.

The dancing would typically last from 9:30 to 11:30 during George V’s reign, after which the royal family and their guests would retire to the dining room for a midnight feast.

The menu for this feast often included grouse pies, lobster, medallions, champagne jellies, and an assortment of sandwiches.
