The Royal Family’s Balcony Snub: King Charles III’s Coronation Ceremony

The Buckingham Palace Balcony, known as the most famous balcony in the world, took center stage today after the historic coronation ceremony of King Charles III and his wife, Camilla.

As the Royal Family gathered on the balcony after the service, this iconic moment is expected to be the talk of Britain for days to come.

Although the picture may seem candid, it was actually staged.

While we are aware of the details surrounding the ceremony and the guest list, the question of who would join the balcony remained a mystery.

Of course, the newly crowned King and Queen were present, along with Prince William, his wife Kate, and their three children.

However, the big question on everyone’s mind was whether Harry would be part of this photo op.

Additionally, there was speculation about the controversial Prince Andrew’s inclusion.

Now, we finally have the answers.

It seems that both controversial princes have been given the royal snub.

The balcony holds great significance in all major celebrations of the Royal Family, including victories in wars, monarchs’ birthdays, jubilee celebrations, weddings, and rare coronations.

The balcony photograph taken after the coronation will undoubtedly convey a powerful message.

On Saturday, following the family’s return from the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey, the curtains were raised, and several family members emerged onto the balcony, waving to the crowds gathered outside the palace gates.

However, only a core group of working royals were allowed on the balcony, comprising family members who carry out official duties on behalf of the King.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla made their first appearance after being crowned.

They were accompanied by the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, and their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Also present were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie, the Princess Royal Anne, and other working royals.

Duke and Duchess of Cloister, Prince Richard, and his wife Birgit, as well as the Duke of Kent, Prince Edward, Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, were also in attendance.

Additionally, some of Camilla’s grandchildren joined them.

Due to the event being exclusively for working royals, Harry did not make an appearance on the balcony.

In 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced their decision to step back from their senior royal duties and relocate to California.

A highly placed source informed Page Six that Harry would not be invited to join the family on the balcony.

Although Harry had reportedly not seen his father since arriving in the UK for the coronation, he was seen smiling during the ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

However, reports from the British media suggest that Harry is likely to skip the lunch invitation at Buckingham Palace.

Furthermore, Harry did not have a formal role in the ceremony, according to Britain’s Press Association news agency.

He did not participate in the procession behind King Charles and Camilla from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace after the service.

But that’s not all.

Despite serving in the army for ten years, reports from the British media state that Harry was not allowed to wear his military uniform at the coronation.

This decision adhered to royal protocol, which typically prohibits non-working members of the royal family from wearing military uniforms at official state occasions.

Previously, Harry was initially denied permission to wear his uniform during the funeral proceedings for Queen Elizabeth II.

However, at King Charles’ request, he was later permitted to wear it while standing vigil at the late monarch’s coffin.

Since then, relations between Harry and his family have continued to deteriorate.

The Sussexes’ Netflix special further criticized the family, and Prince Harry later announced the publication of his tell-all memoir, “Spare.”
