Royal Expert Disputes Claims of Sussexes Wanting to Postpone Docuseries Release

A royal expert has dismissed rumors that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are seeking to delay the airing of their docuseries on Netflix.

Instead, it is believed that Netflix is stalling the release due to a lack of content.

Recent reports suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to postpone the docuseries following the Queen’s passing, in order to avoid appearing insensitive regarding their remarks about King Charles III.

However, royal expert Neil Sean has contradicted these claims, asserting that it was Netflix and not the couple who made the decision to stall the release.

During an appearance on Fox Business in the US, Mr. Sean stated that Netflix feels there is simply not enough content yet.

He refuted reports that the Sussexes wanted to remove unfavorable comments about the royal family, emphasizing that the issue lies with insufficient material.

Mr. Sean revealed that a reliable source informed him that the docuseries currently lacks substantial content.

While there is footage from the Invictus Games in the Netherlands and their visit to New York, they are unable to use footage from the Queen’s state funeral.

Additionally, there is limited footage from their participation in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Considering these limitations, it is understandable why Netflix is uncertain about how to proceed.

Mr. Sean emphasized that claims of the couple trying to censor remarks about King Charles III and Queen consort Camilla are unfounded.

Earlier reports from Page Six in the US indicated that Harry and Meghan were attempting to delay the series release until 2023, similar to their approach with Harry’s memoir published by Penguin Random House.

The series was previously scheduled to air in December, just a month after the fifth season of The Crown premiered.

An insider revealed that discussions are ongoing, with Harry and Meghan expressing a desire to postpone the release.

There are concerns that the show may not proceed at all.

The insider questioned whether the project has been abandoned.

Additionally, a Netflix insider expressed that there is immense pressure on Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, who has a close relationship with Harry and Meghan, to complete the series.

Meanwhile, the Mail on Sunday reported today that palace aides are exploring ways to prevent Prince Harry from publishing his memoir.

Royal sources express deep concern that the book may contain damaging revelations, despite claims that Harry intends to tone it down following the Queen’s passing.

Uchwell Productions, created by the Sussexes last year, is dedicated to producing Netflix content.

One of their projects, Pearl, was canceled amid a decline in Netflix subscribers.

However, this cancellation has not affected other productions.

The Sussexes’ upcoming docuseries, Heart of Invictus, will focus on Prince Harry’s Invictus Games.

The series will follow athletes as they prepare for the event, which took place in April last year.

In April 2020, Harry and Meghan announced their Netflix deal, but they have yet to release a completed product.

The demise of Pearl highlights the significant changes that have occurred at Netflix and in Hollywood within a short span of time.

Netflix experienced a reported $60 billion drop in market value in a single day in April.

This decline reflects the challenges faced by the entire entertainment industry.

In conclusion, while rumors circulated about the Sussexes wanting to delay their docuseries, it appears that Netflix’s decision to stall the release is due to a lack of sufficient content.

Royal expert Neil Sean disputed claims that the couple aimed to remove unfavorable remarks about the royal family.

It remains to be seen when the highly anticipated docuseries will be available for viewers.
