Royal aides shocked by Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s ‘request’ to meet the Queen

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to have Lilibet Christened in the United Kingdom during their next trip astounded royal aides, leaving many in disbelief.

This comes amid the Sussexes ongoing feud with the royal family.

This claim was made by a source close to The Mirror, who was reported stating in an interview, “Harry and Meghan have made this offer but a lot of people are shocked by the sheer nerve of it. They may genuinely want to see the Queen but it’s breathtaking given what they’ve put her through this year.”

They went on to say that the monarch and the palace have yet to approve their very unusual request. Meanwhile, talks on other important forthcoming royal events are said to have begun.

“Her Majesty’s staff have not responded so far. In fact, there has also been discussion about Christmas — and whether an invitation should be sent to Harry and Meghan after they spurned one last year.”

“The Queen is still very fond of Harry and would love to see Lilibet and her brother Archie. But courtiers are surprised by the move, especially from Meghan, after what has happened.”

According to reports, the Queen is taking her time to respond to the offer. While there has never been any indication that she has anything but love for Harry and a desire to spend time with her great-grandchildren, the Sun’s source claims that tensions are still so high that the Sussexes may not even be invited to the royal family’s Christmas celebrations.

If the Sussexes meet with the Queen, it will be the first time she sees baby Lilibet in person, but a newborn photo is said to have been circulating around the Royal Family. When the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan’s daughter was originally announced, it was stated that Lilibet’s name had been selected as a lovely homage to her happy great-grandmother.
