When Charlotte and Louis were born, their royal titles were not immediately guaranteed due to a little-known law from over a century ago.

However, Queen Elizabeth, affectionately known as Gan-Gan to the Prince and Princess of Wales’ children, stepped in to rectify the situation.

Utilizing her power, she overturned a law established by her own maternal grandfather, King George V, in 1917.

Under the previous law, only grandchildren born through the male line and all of the sovereign’s children automatically became a prince or princess.

However, the law did not extend to great-grandchildren.

Recognizing potential issues, Queen Elizabeth decided to extend the change to all of Princess Kate and Prince William’s children, including George, even before his birth.

Thanks to Queen Elizabeth’s intervention, Charlotte and Louis were also granted their titles at birth.

This adjustment was crucial as George would have eventually become a prince when his grandfather, King Charles, ascended to the throne in September.

The upcoming Trooping the Colour, which marks the formal birthday of the sovereign, will be the first under King Charles’ reign.

The event, which has been celebrated for over 260 years, will feature Louis, George, and Charlotte on Saturday.

As Colonel and Chief of the seven regiments of the Household Division, Charles will salute during the birthday parade on Horse Guards Parade.

The procession will start at Buckingham Palace and proceed along the Mall to Horse Guards Parade, where King Charles will receive a royal salute and inspect the military personnel on display.

The Queen and other members of the royal family, including the young royals, will be present as Charles watches the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards Troop receive their colors.

The lifeguards, the blues and royals, and others will serve as the sovereign’s escort.

After the parade, King Charles, accompanied by Camilla and other family members, will return to Buckingham Palace.

They will then stand on the balcony to witness the flypast, which marks the end of the day’s festivities.

Queen Elizabeth’s intervention not only secured royal titles for Charlotte and Louis but also ensured a smooth transition for future generations.

Her foresight and proactive approach have once again demonstrated her dedication to the monarchy and her role as the head of the royal family.
