Prince Harry, Meghan Markle were ‘shocked at true meaning of financial independence’ after Megxit
According to a royal expert, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle cannot afford to compete with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s charitable efforts.
After going through Megxit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be completely puzzled by the actual meaning of financial freedom.
Daniela Elser, a royal author, backed this claim.
Despite their best attempts to make the Archewell Foundation a huge success, Ms Elser argues that the parents of two must balance their charitable activities with their financial obligations.
“Despite the Sussexes having laudably pronounced they wanted to work towards becoming financially independent, facing what that meant, in reality, would appear to have come as something of a shock to the duo,” she wrote in her new column for News.com.au.

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry alleged that the royals had cut him and Meghan off financially.
Harry says he was cut off in the first quarter of 2020, shortly after he and Meghan announced their decision to stand down as senior royals. He also mentioned that his late mother, Princess Diana, had left him money.
“Without that, we wouldn’t have been able to do this,” he said, most likely alluding to the family’s relocation to California.
To sustain themselves and their charitable activities, the pair signed production deals with Netflix and Spotify.
