Prince Harry and Meghan’s Montecito Mansion Doubles in Value, Potentially Worth £30 Million

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have seen their wealth increase significantly over the past two years, with their luxurious Montecito mansion in the US playing a key role.

The couple purchased the sprawling property for £11.93 million ($14.6 million) in June 2020, and it has now more than doubled in value in just 23 months.

The Oceanside Montecito estate boasts an impressive 18,671 square feet, nine bedrooms, and 19 bathrooms.

According to property website Redfin, the mansion is currently valued at £23,960,720 ($29,350,320), which means the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could make a staggering £12 million ($15 million) if they were to sell it today.

While rival website Zillow estimates the home’s value at £21.6 million ($26,485,500), some experts believe it could fetch as high as £30 million ($36.81 million).

Luxury estate agents attribute this surge in property prices to the soaring housing market in California, which shows no signs of slowing down.

As a result, rumors have emerged that Harry and Meghan might be considering selling their prized residence.

Meanwhile, streaming giant Netflix, which signed a multi-million dollar deal with the Sussexes, has recently made some tough decisions due to falling revenue.

The company announced the layoff of 150 employees, following the cancellation of Meghan Markle’s upcoming project, Pearl.

This move has drawn criticism from social media users, with some claiming that Netflix wasted $100 million on the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle show.

These cutbacks come at a challenging time for the streaming platform, as it recently experienced a decrease in subscribers for the first time in ten years.

In the first quarter of this year alone, Netflix lost 200,000 subscribers.

The redundancies primarily affect staff at Netflix’s Californian office, amounting to around 2% of its North American workforce.

The company attributed the layoffs to a drop in revenue.

In a statement, Netflix expressed regret over parting ways with talented colleagues due to business needs.

However, the cancellation of Meghan’s animated TV series Pearl is seen as a blow to the Sussexes.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams noted that Netflix’s financial struggles and content changes have likely influenced this decision.

He questioned what the streaming platform now expects from the royal couple, considering their lucrative deal and upcoming Heart of Invictus series.

With Netflix under pressure to make significant changes, it may push the internationally recognized brand of Harry and Meghan to produce content more rapidly.

The situation highlights the unpredictable nature of the entertainment industry and the challenges faced by even the most successful companies.

Netflix, once boasting a partnership with the Sussexes and the triumph of The Crown, now finds itself making drastic cutbacks and altering its output.

As for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, their Montecito mansion has proven to be a wise investment, propelling their wealth to new heights.

Whether they decide to sell their luxurious property or continue to enjoy its increasing value, their financial success remains undeniable.
