Prince Harry and Meghan Markle May Be Excluded from King’s Coronation Guest List

There is speculation that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may not be invited to the forthcoming King’s Coronation.

Despite reportedly receiving an invitation earlier this month, various factors suggest that the Duke and Duchess might be snubbed from the balcony appearance on May 6th.

One significant factor is the couple’s status as non-senior royals since March 2020.

Last year, Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step back from their roles as working members of the firm.

They expressed their desire for financial independence and pledged their support to Queen Elizabeth.

In an Instagram statement, they revealed that they had contemplated their position for several months before making this decision.

Subsequently, the couple relocated to the United States with their two young children.

Another consideration is the couple’s relatively low profile during their visit to the UK in June 2022.

While they attended the Platinum Jubilee Thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey, they did not make a balcony appearance alongside other members of the royal family.

Furthermore, a leaked procession plan for the upcoming coronation only includes working royals and Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Harry and Meghan are conspicuously absent from the plan.

Tensions between the couple and the royal family have been escalating for some time now.

The release of their Netflix series and Harry’s book, “Spare,” has further fueled the situation.

The book made claims about key members of the royal family, alleging a physical altercation between Harry and Prince William and describing Queen Camilla as dangerous.

Royal expert Sarah Hewson has remarked that the brothers could not be more distant from each other.

Despite these circumstances, there are reports suggesting that the couple might still be included in the coronation in some capacity.

They could potentially attend a private event before or after the ceremony.

Alternatively, they may choose to decline the invitation altogether.

However, it is evident that Harry and Meghan will not play a prominent role in the proceedings.

Compared to his mother’s coronation in 1953, the King’s coronation will be considerably smaller and shorter.

The guest list has been significantly reduced, resulting in hundreds of MPs and peers missing out on attending.

The official procession plans have been unveiled, revealing that the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, will follow behind the Golden State coach, carrying the newly crowned King and Queen to Buckingham Palace.
