Sophia Bush, a former star of the CW drama series “One Tree Hill,” recently discussed her experience with the show’s former showrunner, Mark Schwahn, on the “Inside of You” podcast hosted by Michael Rosenbaum.

Many cast members have previously spoken out about Schwahn’s alleged behavior on set, which led to an investigation and his firing.

Bush stated that 18 women from the show signed a letter exposing their experiences of the cast and crew, while 25 women from Schwahn’s subsequent show, “The Royals,” signed a letter in response about his behavior.

Bush claimed that Schwahn would make inappropriate comments, be handsy with cast members, and pull people into side rooms for conversations.

Bush then alleged that Schwahn kept pictures of the actresses on set, including photos of them in their underwear, without their knowledge.

She stated that the wardrobe supervisor, who was a woman, took the photos and that Schwahn would keep a board of fitting photos of each girl in his office.

“We were like, ‘Wow, that’s super violating,'” Bush said.

Due to Schwahn’s control over the jobs and livelihoods of the 250 people on set, nobody could confront him about his behavior.

Rosenbaum asked Bush how she would feel if she had a conversation with Schwahn, and she calmly responded, “I could do a conversation like this, but even as you ask me to imagine it, the sensation of white, hot rage in my chest is not small.”

Bush explained that Schwahn would pit the women against each other by telling them that others were talking negatively about them, preventing them from advocating for more money together.

“We didn’t know that we should have questioned him the most. We listened to him, we questioned each other,” she said.

The actress feels lucky to be able to take back control of her experience with the “Drama Queens” podcast, where she re-watches “One Tree Hill” with fellow cast members Hilarie Burton and Joy Lenz.

“We are literally healing old wounds, and if it irks him that we have the power, I’m thrilled,” Bush said.
