Miley Cyrus suffers wardrobe malfunction on stage during NYE special
Miley Cyrus handled herself brilliantly throughout a late-night New Year’s Eve wardrobe malfunction.
During her NBC special, the “Party in the U.S.A.” singer’s top slipped loose on live TV, nearly exposing her during the start of her performance of the 2009 song.
Cyrus could be seen clutching onto her top as she strolled around the stage in a silver costume, singing the song’s opening words before heading backstage while her backup singers and band continued to perform.

During the first chorus of the song, the “Angels Like You” singer returned to the stage in a red jacket she had worn earlier in the show.

“Everybody’s definitely looking at me now,” Cyrus said, referring to the song’s lyrics from 2009. “I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage,” she joked, laughing off the gaffe.
“It wouldn’t be 2022 without a wardrobe malfunction from Miley,” a Miley Cyrus fan account tweeted, along with a footage from the event.
Cyrus even turned the incident into a new year’s lesson.
“Tonight’s show was all about being flexible, rolling with the punches, and making the best out of even the worst circumstances. And that resilience shouldn’t end here. Let’s bring that into the New Year with us,” Cyrus said at the end of the night. “We’ve all learned how to expect the unexpected, and rather than see it as a problem, let’s see it as an opportunity. I wish everyone here in Miami and everyone watching from home a happy and healthy 2022. Thank you for making tonight possible. You were really all that I needed to have the ultimate party.”

Pete Davidson, star of “Saturday Night Live,” co-hosted the televised event and joined Cyrus for a performance of Will Smith’s “Miami.”
Executive producers included Miley Cyrus and television producer Lindsay Shookus.
“In what is sure to be an exciting and fun evening, we are looking forward to partnering with Lorne Michaels and ringing in 2022 with a night of incredible entertainment, led by Miley and Pete,” Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events, Specials, and E! News, NBCUniversal, said in a statement earlier this month.
Miley also sang renditions of Blondie’s ‘Heart Of Glass’ and Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene,’ the latter of which she performed alongside her sister Noah, and she introduced a new song dubbed ‘You.’
