Meghan Markle’s Transition from Royal Life to Reality TV: A Major Step Down

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has faced criticism from a royal commentator for her choices since stepping down as a senior royal in 2020.

The commentator claims that Markle has sold everyone down the river by becoming a reality TV star, a move considered a significant step down from her previous royal status.

During a segment on GB News’ Muck of the Week, royal commentator Nana Akhwar expressed her disapproval of Markle’s behavior.

Akhwar noted that Markle’s actions are uncharacteristic of a member of the royal family, even for an outsider who has married into the institution.

She went on to describe Markle’s split with Prince Harry on Spotify as a mutual dumping, suggesting that Markle had betrayed those around her.

Akhwar further emphasized that Markle failed to grasp the significance of transitioning from royalty to reality TV stardom.

According to the commentator, becoming a reality TV star is a substantial downgrade from the esteemed position of a royal.

The royal commentator also shared her concerns about Prince Harry’s future.

Akhwar highlighted instances in Harry’s biography where he portrayed himself in a negative light, indicating that his life may also take a turn for the worse.

Markle’s departure from traditional royal behavior began early in her marriage to Prince Harry.

She frequently broke royal protocols and restrictions, either intentionally or unknowingly.

For instance, she chose to wear Dior for her son Archie’s christening, deviating from the tradition of British designers being favored by royal mothers.

Additionally, Markle announced the birth of their son via Instagram rather than following the established royal channels.

Her participation in Christmas celebrations at Sandringham before marriage was another breach of royal protocol, as even Kate Middleton was not allowed to spend the holiday season with Prince William when they were engaged.

Furthermore, Markle’s public displays of affection with Prince Harry were met with disapproval from traditionalists.

Her discussion of political matters also contradicted the royal family’s stance on neutrality.

Looking ahead, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are committed to producing new content as part of their lucrative Netflix contract worth $100 million.

They have already released two shows on the streaming platform.

“Harry and Meghan” provided viewers with insights into their royal lives and garnered significant attention.

Their second project, “Live to Lead,” featured interviews with notable figures such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Gloria Steinem.

In August, a project focusing on Prince Harry’s organization, the Invictus Games, is set to be released.

This project follows a group of competitors who have experienced life-altering injuries during wartime as they prepare for the event.

Additionally, the couple is reportedly working on a TV series called “Bad Manners,” based on Charles Dickens’ character Miss Havisham from the novel “Great Expectations.”

No other partnerships with different companies have been confirmed at this time.

As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to explore new ventures, their transition from royal life to reality TV remains a topic of discussion.

While some criticize their choices, others eagerly anticipate their future projects.
