Meghan Markle’s Short-Lived Spotify Podcast: A Broadcaster’s Worst Nightmare

Meghan Markle’s foray into the podcasting world has been met with criticism and disappointment, according to royal expert Dan Wooten.

The Duchess of Sussex was recently dropped by Spotify after just one series of her Archetypes podcast, consisting of 12 episodes.

While there were discussions for a second series, those plans were ultimately scrapped.

Spotify had shown great support for Meghan’s podcasting venture by building a studio in the couple’s lavish Montecito mansion.

This partnership even helped secure their massive mortgage.

However, in return, the company asked Meghan to make last-minute changes to her podcast, leaving broadcasters in a state of distress.

It was a nightmare scenario for anyone in the industry.

Wooten’s comments came on the heels of criticism from Jeremy Zimmer, CEO of United Talent Agency, who questioned Meghan’s talent as a vocal artist.

Zimmer stated that being famous doesn’t automatically equate to being skilled in a particular field.

This further added to the negative reception surrounding Meghan’s podcast.

Recently, Spotify announced that it would not be renewing its deal with Archewell Audio, meaning there will be no more episodes of Meghan’s podcast on the streaming platform.

In a joint statement, both parties claimed to have mutually agreed to separate and expressed pride in the series they had created together.

Speculation arose that Netflix, with whom the couple also has a collaboration, might follow suit after Wooten suggested the streaming giant was unhappy with the content produced by the Sussexes.

However, Netflix quickly dispelled these rumors, stating that they deeply value their relationship with Archewell Productions.

A spokesperson confirmed that they are currently working on several projects, including the highly anticipated documentary series, “Heart of Invictus.”

“Heart of Invictus” is set to be released in August of this year and will focus on a group of service personnel as they prepare for the Invictus Games tournament in The Hague.

While Harry and Meghan’s history with Netflix has been a mixed bag, their explosive series “Harry and Meghan” proved to be a major success, offering insights into their lives as members of the royal family.

Unfortunately, not all of the couple’s projects have fared well.

Their animated series, “Pearl,” which aimed to celebrate powerful women throughout history, was canceled by Netflix due to budget cuts.

Meghan was set to be an executive producer alongside David Furnish, Elton John’s husband.

Despite the setback, Meghan expressed her excitement about the series and its mission to shed light on extraordinary women.

As Meghan Markle navigates her way through various ventures, it seems that her podcasting career has hit a roadblock.

While her future projects with Netflix remain promising, the short-lived Spotify podcast serves as a reminder that not every endeavor can be a resounding success.
