Meghan Markle’s Org Paid Michelle Obama’s Ex-PR Chief Over $100k

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s non-profit organization, Archewell Foundation, paid a considerable sum of money to a woman who used to handle all public relations for Michelle Obama.

The documents filed by the foundation for tax disclosure in 2021 reveal that over $215,000 was spent on a company named Invisible Hand, which provides various services related to social impact and culture.

However, it was the payment of $110k to KMLSA, a PR agency based near San Diego, that caught the attention of many people.

The CEO of KMLSA is Katie McCormick-Lelyveld, who is closely associated with the Obamas.

She served as Michelle Obama’s Press Secretary from 2007 to 2011 and has provided PR services to Hillary Clinton and John Kerry in the past.

KML Strategic Advisors, her company, claims to be professional guides for rarified air, i.e., from corporate war rooms to media battlefields, corner offices to the White House.

The tax disclosure documents do not specify the purpose for which the Archewell Foundation paid these two agencies, except citing “Strategic Support for Social Impact PR.”

This description leaves much room for interpretation, but some people are speculating that Meghan Markle may be considering running for public office, and she is hiring the best in the business to guide her.

Alternatively, this payment could also be related to their Royal drama as we know that Meg and Harry are actively involved in philanthropy work.

However, Meghan’s interest in causes and advocacy work suggests that Washington D.C would be an ideal place for her to fight for them.

While the PR consulting might be related to their philanthropic endeavors, some believe that it is a signal that Meghan is gearing up for public office, and this move could have political implications.

It is noteworthy that the payment made to KMLSA is not illegal or unethical, but it highlights how Meghan and Harry are expanding their professional network to include experienced PR professionals with political connections.

The couple is committed to achieving social impact, and they are employing the best people in the industry to guide them.

All in all, the revelation that Meghan Markle’s non-profit organization paid over $100k to Michelle Obama’s ex-PR chief has sparked a lot of interest and speculation.

While it is unclear what the payment was specifically for, it has raised the possibility that Meghan could be considering a career in politics, and only time will tell what this move means for her future.
