Meghan Markle reportedly Fired night nanny over mystery incident

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to have “put off” childcare due to a “incident with a night nanny.”

The couple is claimed to have recruited a night nanny a few months after the birth of their son Archie to help with the child’s nighttime routine.

However, the new nanny only stayed with the Sussexes for a few days before being fired due to a “incident in the night”

The event left the couple hesitant to hire help for overnight care again, and despite employing a second nanny, they opted to let them go rather quickly.

In an interview with the UK’s Channel 4 program A Very Royal Baby, royal journalist Omid Scobie stated, “Very few people know the real story behind it. After Archie’s arrival, Harry and Meghan wanted some help to establish a sleep pattern. They hired a night nanny. Whilst I can’t go into someone else’s employment details for legal reasons, it was an incident on one of the first nights that put the couple off from having a night nurse”

Omid went on to say that the “incident” is still a private matter for people close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The event is alleged to have deterred the couple from providing Archie with nighttime care.

Despite their negative experience, the couple decided to give it another shot and hired a second nanny to assist them, but the initial occurrence made them concerned.

“Neither found themselves comfortable sleeping through the night without going to check on Archie regularly.” Omid says in Finding Freedom.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex apparently sought for someone during the day and had slightly better luck.

“They moved onto number three. Which was a woman that worked for them for quite some time actually, until they moved to California,” Scobie said.

“She helped them out on very much a 9-5 basis and it was a great working relationship actually despite reports.”

Initially, the parents “didn’t want a Mary Poppins-type character around their child,” according to Scobie in an interview for the documentary.

It’s unclear what the couple’s intentions are for their second child, a girl who is rumored to be due any day now, especially as Harry and Meghan crank up their work commitments; Meghan is launching her first children’s book, while Harry is taking on the post of Chief Impact Officer at BetterUp. Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, is likely to spend at least a few days with them, like she did when Archie was born, to help them acclimate.

Omid has also recently disclosed information regarding who Meghan and Harry may chose as Godparents for their second child.

“If one of those godparents is Oprah – and I’m not saying that she is – then you can understand why perhaps they want to keep that to themselves because even Oprah sitting down to interview them was controversial enough in itself,” Omid told The Sun.
