Meghan Markle issued statement about Prince Philip’s funeral
According to The Mail, Meghan Markle issued a statement via her “Global Press Secretary” confirming that she would be witnessing Prince Philip’s funeral.
In a statement released by her and Harry’s ‘Global Press Secretary,’ the Duchess of Sussex announced she would be watching the service from her home in the United States.
Since medical recommendations urged her to remain in the United States owing to her pregnancy, the Duchess of Sussex stayed in Los Angeles, California.
“I can confirm that The Duchess will be watching from home as she was hopeful to be able to attend, but was not cleared for travel by her physician at this stage in her pregnancy,” the statement reads, according to the Daily Mail.
It went on to mention Harry’s accomplishments throughout his ten-year military service, which included two deployments of Afghanistan on the front lines.

Harry and his late grandfather had a “unique connection in their shared active service – including in combat – as part of the British Armed Forces,” according to the statement.
However, the press release later listed the supplier of the wreath the pair had laid for Philip in St George’s Chapel, which ruffled a few royal feathers.
They chose the flowers for the tribute, and Meghan even left a handwritten letter to the Duke of Edinburgh.
The flower tributes from other members of the royal family have not been made public because they are “personal and private,” according to Buckingham Palace.
Meghan and Archie viewed the service with a special live stream from the couple’s home in California, according to a source close to the Sussexes.
Following the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, Harry returned to the UK to attend his funeral, together with his brother, Prince William, and father, Prince Charles.
Harry is said to have kept his return ticket to the United States open.
The Duke is likely to stay in the UK for a couple more days, and might also be there as the Queen celebrates her 95th birthday.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry was reunited with his father and brother, raising expectations that the long-standing sibling rivalry could be resolved.
After the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral, Charles held private talks with his warring sons, which insiders claim is just what Philip might have wanted.
Following Saturday’s televised service, the three got together away from the cameras.
They stayed together for two hours on the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle, mingling with family members.
